Chapter 9
Sorting His Dark Materials Characters Into Hogwarts Houses

Lyra Belacqua/Silvertongue - Like most heroes, Lyra has traits of many houses. She is cunning and resourceful, I think the house she would be in is Slytherin. Even the name Silvertongue, which she chose for herself, screams Slytherin. I actually like that this series flipped the script and has a more Slytherin type hero instead of a Gryffindor one.

Pan - He is Lyra’s voice of reason in her more Gryffindor moments, and in the second season he was the one who explained that they can’t survive alone. This emphasis on calm advice and trusting others makes me think he is Hufflepuff. This supports my personal headcanon is that your daemon is the one house that you don’t see in yourself since Lyra does not usually act Hufflepuff.

Will Parry - I feel that Will is a warrior spirit who would choose to be Gryffindor. Him being Gryffindor makes a nice balance with Lyra.

Mrs. Coulter - She is full of ambition and doesn’t care what she has to do to get to the top. She is Slytherin, like mother like daughter.

Asriel Belacqua - His main goal is to remove the limits that the Magisterium have placed on the pursuit of knowledge. This emphasis on knowledge makes me think that he is Ravenclaw. A Ravenclaw villain is another rare character choice that I enjoyed in this series.

Lee Scoresby - At first glance he seems to be a Gryffindor, but his fierce protective instincts for those he loves leads me to believe he is Hufflepuff.

*Please note that this is just my opinion!*
