The 3 Broomsticks

Chapter 2

Voldemort slowly approached Draco, his arms stretched wide. Draco looked
to the side and was horrified at what was happening-- Hermione was
being laying on the floor, her arms tied to a rusty old pole, Belllatrix
went up to her and started to slowly cut into her forearm the word
'Die' in huge letters. The knife Bellatrix was using had rust all over
it and blood stains from other people. Even if Hermione didn't end up
dying, she'd have a huge infection in her arm. "Don't look at a mudblood
like that. I can see you care for that worthless thing." Voldemort
said, now lowering his arms. "Kill her Draco. Make her feel what
mudbloods deserve. You know the spell." Voldemort whispered into Draco's
ear. Draco could feel his eyes becoming watery and tried to fight back
tears. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He could hear someone
chuckling, it was Voldemort. To distract himself from that putrid sound,
he opened his eyes and looked around the room to see where he was.
Draco was in his room.

"It was just a dream..." Draco
said to himself. He could feel his heart beating. His throat felt like
it was going to close. His new clothes for school were damp with sweat.
He slowly sat up in his bed and got up so he could change. It was
3:45pm. "Mum is supposed to take me to Diagon Alley!" Draco said. He got
dressed quickly in clothes identical to the ones he had on before and
ran down the stairs. Lucius was at the bottom. "Hello there Draco" he
said. Lucius looked at Draco with a look of disgust and went up stairs,
muttering something about stupid. "Draco! Here you are. So let's go so
we can get all the new books. I heard you'll have a new professor this
year." Narcissa said. Draco could tell she was feeling better. Her eyes
weren't smudged with makeup, and she looked well rested. Draco ran down
the rest of the stairs. "Do you know who?" Draco asked. "No, me and your
father aren't sure on who." Narcissa said, pulling a plate from the
table. It was the port key. Draco and her both touched it, and in a
second they were standing in Diagon Alley.
Draco bought all of his books in a matter of
20 minutes. Narcissa saw a friend of hers and went into Knockturn alley
with them while Draco went to get some butter beer in the 3
Broomsticks. He seated himself at a table with two chairs and looked
around. He saw some other hogwarts students sitting at long tables and
laughing about some spell they preformed the other day. Draco rolled his
eyes, he knew he was better than them. He looked behind him as the bell
on the back door rung. Hermione Granger was walking into the three
broomsticks. She was by herself and had been crying. Draco had the
sudden urge to ask her to come over to his table but tried to fight the
thought. He knew if he did his father would be upset. Soon a huge group
of people walked through the door before Hermione sat down, and she was left
with no where to sit. The bartender looked at Hermione and whispered something. That's when her eyes fell upon Draco. She gave a weak smile and started to walk toward him. "Hi." she said, lowering her head. Draco just stared. He wanted to ask her to come sit with him, and now he didn't have to. "May I sit?" Hermione asked looking at the old wooden chair. "I don't care." Draco sneered. "Thanks." Hermione said, "The book list is pretty long this year." Noticing that Draco didn't care she bent her head down. Or at least that's what she thought. Draco cared about anything Hermione did. He liked to listen to her go on and on about nonsense. "I agree" Draco said quietly. Hermione heard him though, and she was happy he replied. "Why were you crying earlier?" Draco asked. He said it nicer than he originally planned. As he asked her that she started to cry again. "M-my d-dad." Hermione stuttered "h-he has ca-cancer."
