Lesson Two: Magical Beginnings Study Guide

There are various myths about how magic came into the world. Most myths are brushed off as nonsense by magihistorians.
The Theory of Uno Mas
This theory suggests that Uno Mas, the first ever wizard, is where magic came from. Uno Mas was not his real name, but historians gave him that name since he was supposedly the initial wizard. Uno Mas was transcribed into the First Magi, which was inscribed in ancient Aramaic. The Spanish definition is One More. Uno Mas is believed to make the first ever wand as well.
The Migration Theory
While magical people lived amongst Muggles, it is believed that those who had magic, did not know they had magical abilities. In 1535, Ho Mao Tseng found multiple parchments that indicated they taught magic, but since the tracks were from wizards who died from an avalanche, it didn't really lead to anything worthwhile. In 1803 to 1832, Gringotts curse-breakers found spells, jewelry, clothing, & tools that told them these people migrated to France. This theory declared that there is a natural progression in conjuring magic.
The Theory of Hocus Pocus
This theory suggests that magic just appeared suddenly with no real reason. Women used magic to persuade others to do their bidding. From this usage, natural progression in conjuring magic happened. The Birch Bark Manuscript has evidence that backs up this theory with writings.
Disagreement Among the Theories
Scholars suspect the hocus pocus theory is more reliable than the Theory of Uno Mas. Dr. Loppet believed in the migration & hocus pocus theories. People suppose that Ho Mao Tseng would support Dr. Loppet & Professor Bjorken's claims.
Fun Facts
⊱ William Marangue's book says that Uno existed along with reptiles & long before cavemen. It suggests that Uno Mas is a father of sorts to all of us magical people.
⊱ Curse-breakers have also found tools, Diricawl feathers, writing utensils, & unicorn horn necklaces that shows as evidence of the hocus pocus theory.
⊱ Along with Professor Bjorken, Dr. Loppet received manuscripts from the Alps. These involved information that supports the migration & hocus pocus theory claims.
⊱ Both Bjorken & Lilth Greenswald argued about which would keep the Alps manuscripts. Ultimately, Bjorken triumphed & got to keep them.
