Once your done writing your letter you want to throw it away, burn it, rip it, anything, just make sure you forget about it completely
once you have forgotten about it or burned it or any of that, that means it has been sent and they should be receiving it anytime. Remember Hogwarts is a long way away for some of us so it might take them longer to write or send a sign but don't lose hope you just have to believe!
