Three Things You May Not Know About the Hogwarts Founders (Informational)
Chapter 14
About a thousand years ago, two witches and two wizards in Great Britain decided to establish the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, so that the young witches and wizards of the country could systematically receive the required training and cultivation of their magical abilities. These four witches and wizards were Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw.
Here are details from the lives of the Hogwarts founders that you might not have known.
1. Slytherin’s original intention during the construction of the Chamber of Secrets was to use it for teaching purposes, and specifically for the Dark Arts. Secrecy was necessary for Slytherin, as the other founders would not approve of this curriculum.
2.The logos of the Houses are based on regions of Great Britain: Ravenclaw - Scotland; Hufflepuff - Wales; Slytherin - East of England. As for the Gryffindor dormitory, there is controversy, as Godric is said to have come from either Scotland, or a village on the west side of England, Godric's Hollow.
3. The Hogwarts castle was designed by Rowena Ravenclaw. It is probably due to a dream she had where -according to the description in English- a "warty hog" had led her to a cliff next to the Black Lake.
