Chapter 10
The next morning I got up early. I went downstairs to see that Ferdinand was already dressed and having his breakfast. His bags were by his feet. He looked up at me, didn't smile, and said rather gloomily, "Just packed."
I knew he was grumpy about yesterday. I gritted my teeth, and didn't reply.
Ferdinand's parents came downstairs about two hours later (it was seven o'clock when they came down), and they both kindly smiled at me, and I had to force a smile back.
I whispered to Ferdinand, "The train leaves at 11:00, so be sure to be there at about ten thirty or something."
"Right," said Ferdinand sullenly.
Ferdinand's parents drove Ferdinand and I to Kings Cross. Yesterday I had already told Ferdinand about the barrier, so he knew what to do. He said a solemn goodbye to his father and mother, and then, (making sure that Ferdinand's parents weren't looking), they ran through the brick barrier, Ferdinand pushing his trolley.
They came to platform 9/3 quarters, and Ferdinand forced a smile and said, "Bye, Sylvia."
I smiled, it was a real smile. I wanted to hug him, but Ferdinand had already turned away, and he jumped onto the train with his bags and his pets.
I looked at my watch. Five more minutes and then the train would start to move. Ferdinand was still standing by the train door. "Please Sylvia. Please come with me!"
Three minutes...
"Please Sylvia! I'll stand up for you! No one will hurt you again... hurt your feeling! Please, Sylvia... come with me!" he pleaded.
Two minutes...
"Please.." Ferdinand's was desperate... he was pleading.
One minute.... 50 seconds...
I stared at Ferdinand.
"Please..." he whispered.
Five.... four.... three.... two.... one!
I leaped onto the train, and hugged Ferdinand. He was so happy. He looked down at me, beaming, and I was so happy too. We were going back to Hogwarts!
