Magical Ingredients

Magical creatures & magical plants have magical abilities. Mandrakes are an example of this due to their beast-like nature, but is also the Kingdom Plantae. Magical ingredients are quicker to affect & the magic rushes metabolic reactions to the body. The body breaks down nutrients at a rapid speed, but it is different for each person. It has been discovered that magical ingredients can increase your metabolism. Magical ingredients also has a greater impact with potions. Very young, very old, those that are pregnant, & those that have weak immune systems should not take potions. Adding a wrong item to a potion can be fatal.

Mundane Ingredients

Mundane ingredients are a softer substitute for magical ingredients. Ginger can help with inflammation and motion illness. You can drink this root daily in a tea & children can also take it. Non-magical ingredients are to help the flavor, such as lavender & mint. It can also help to counteract nasty effects in a potion. Roses can be used to help stomach issues in a potion as well as ginger.

Transitional Ingredients

Dragonfly Thoraxes have no magic, but when put with magical items, it will show magical qualities. In the Girding Potion, Thoraxes are used for energy & stamina, while its wings are used for quick thinking potions. This type of magic is an expression of magical gifts & talents. It draws Muggles & wizards to magical creatures. Magic became a vestigial organ until it disappeared.
