We kissed and the butterflies in my stomach flew all around the room. They spread their wings and made a huge heart around us. Of course that's just what I imagined but it felt real. We finally pulled away and stared into each other's eyes. His electric blue eyes are mesmerizing and were hypnotizing me more and more as I stared into them.
He smiled at me and I smiled back. We sat onto the bed and talked more about the paperwork then he changed the subject to the good news get together. We grew tired and before I knew it, Kadin fell asleep leaning onto me. I just smiled as he slept soundly. I didn't want to wake him so I moved the papers as best I could without waking him up and fell asleep cuddling him.
I felt Kadin get up to leave the bed. I turn around to look at him, still half way asleep. I open my eyes just a little bit. he looked back at me and gave me a kiss on my forehead. "I'm gonna get the coffee started." he whispered. "mm k" I mumble as he walked towards the door. I stayed in bed and fell asleep again.
I slid out of bed after a while. I looked in my mirror at the now wrinkled long blue hoodie and my messy black hair. I walked down to the kitchen to get some food. As I enter into the kitchen I see him bent over his phone. He's wearing some black sweatpants and his dirty blond hair is messy still. "good morning" I yawned. He looked up from his phone. "good morning sleeping beauty" he said. "huh sure beauty. Do you even see me?" I said as I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. He smiled down at me. "You look beautiful to me at all times" I smile. I remembered I'd daydream of things like that before. "Coffee?" he asked. "yeah might need something to get me up or else I might fall asleep again" I said. After we kiss each other and he grabs a coffee cup and pours me some as I get the creamer. "So how'd you sleep last night?" he asked as he hands me the cup and I pour the creamer. I take a sip from the cup. "like an angel" I said with a smile. "you?" I asked back. "Well.. maybe warn me you're a kicker" he said pretending to rub his leg like it had a bruise. "Sorry, it slipped my mind" I told him. We smile at each other.
"So what's going on?" I asked pointing to his phone. "There's supposed to be a huge storm tonight." he said glancing at me. "Oh great. Isn't this supposed to be a vacation" I whine sarcastically
The only reason we were here was because Kadin inherited a free little house outside of a big city that belonged to his uncle, he wanted to check it out and have a vacation and since I didn't have a home anymore since I ran away, he brought me here to see if I would like to live in that house. It was a nice calming little house. The main bedroom and guest bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom, kitchen, and small living room was downstairs. The only thing I didn't like was that I would be miles away from Kadin.
After I finished my coffee I sat on top of the counter watching Kadin scroll through text messages and news. "I'm going to go take a shower and get dressed." I tell him before I jump off the counter and give him a kiss on the cheek. "ok. I'll get in after you" he says occupied on his phone.
I head upstairs to get my clothes ready. I mess with the necklace smiling. I was still in shock that Kadin actually liked me.
He's a few inches taller than me with dirty blond hair that sweeps onto his forehead, his eyes is an electric blue color and he's very athletic since he plays a lot of sports (football, basketball, baseball, and even cross country), he is also a farm kid like me, so he is a hard worker and he has a great personality, he's funny, kind, caring, and he knows how to make me laugh and smile.
After I get dressed into a pair of jeans and a blue T-shirt, I brush my hair and teeth, then I fix my bed a bit and do a little laundry. I go to see what Kadin is doing. He sits on the front porch looking out towards the city with all it's noise. I sit next to him leaning my head onto his shoulder. He changed into a pair of jeans as well and a white buttoned shirt and I could tell he tried combing out his hair but it's still a little messy. "What are you doing out here?" I asked him. "Well I was just sitting out here enjoying the peace, but I think it might be time to go back inside." he said starting to get up. After he got up he held out a hand for me. I grabbed it and he pulled me up wrapping me into another hug and saying "Liv, I love you. I'm so glad you told me the truth and I know I said I was going to tell you the truth but to be honest I tell that to myself everyday and everyday I don't." he smiled and kissed me on my forehead. I smiled back at him as he pulled me closer to his warm body like he did last night. He then pulled me away and held my hand as we walked inside. We sat down onto a small couch in the living room and turned on the TV. As he still held my hand and he looked at the necklace, then he looked back at the TV. I looked at him. He kinda seemed off, but he did just break up with his two year girlfriend and just found out that his best friend liked him and he felt the same way AND that our old friend group is going to try to meet up again after all these years away.
"What's wrong? You seem a little....I don't know...off I guess" I said looking at him. "It's nothing. Just feel a little tired that's all" he said looking back at me with a smile. "Are you sure? Is it about the get together?" I asked him. "I'm fine, really Liv, it's nothing" he said.
After a while of watching the TV I made some pasta for lunch. As we ate we heard the thunder outside and the rain drops, falling from the sky and hit the roof. We spent most of the time cleaning and relaxed the rest of the day. The rain was falling pretty hard outside when I made dinner. Afterwards Kadin decided to go to bed.
If this was a musical then this is the part where I would burst into song about how I'm happy but I feel like something's off, but it's not so...sorry.
I head to bed after a while of scrolling on my phone.
I pull off my jeans and T-shirt and pull on a long shirt as a night dress. I cover up in blankets and turn to fall asleep. I tossed around, but I couldn't sleep. As I closed my eyes I could see something or someone following me everywhere. The thunder didn't help either as it shouted in the dark. Instead of trying to sleep, I just stared at the ceiling. I heard the rain pounding on the roof outside and I tried blocking out the sounds, but I couldn't. I checked the time on my phone, it was 1:38 a.m. I got up and walked out of my room. I slowly opened his bedroom door. I peeked inside, to check if he was asleep and he was.
I remember when we were kids and we were on the cross country team and we were coming back from a meet. It was a two and a half hour drive back so you decided to take a nap on the bus. We sat by each other and you fell asleep and after a while so did I. When I woke up I was leaning on your shoulder and you were leaning on my head. It felt so nice to be close to you so I closed my eyes again. I woke up again from the sound of a few people trying to hold back laughter. I opened my eyes a little bit and saw everyone else on the cross country team looking at us and they all had their phones out taking pictures and videos of us. Even my friend, ReRe, was taking pictures. You then woke up and we pushed each other away. Lots of the team posted it on their story. ReRe kept bringing it up whenever just to see me turn red and tease me. She knew that I really liked you. Me and you got humiliated and I kept saying "we're JUST friends" though I wished that moment lasted longer.
I was about to close the door when my hand slipped from the handle and my knuckle hit the door frame. "Ow!" I somewhat yelled. I covered my mouth as soon as I could, but it was too late. Kadin woke up and looked around to see me standing in the doorway to his room, one hand over my mouth. "liv? what are you doing?" he asked tiredly. Dang it, I probably looked so creepy. "Well I couldn't sleep." I said with a apologetic look on my face. "come in" he said still half awake. I walked in and said "I didn't mean to wake you up. I was just checking to see if you were awake or not, because of the thunder." I said looking at him. I take a few steps backwards towards the door because even though that we slept in my bed together last night, he just seemed off so I wanted to give him space and time to himself and last time he accidentally fell asleep. "night kadin" I said as I open the door. "it's fine liv, just stay" he said as he scoots over, making room on the bed. I close it slowly and turn and walk towards the bed. I sit down with one leg off the bed, ready to head to my room again. He moved the blankets so I could slip underneath them. He pulled them over me after I layed down, keeping his hand on me. He then started pulling me closer. I moved really close to him as he combed through my hair with his fingers. My eyes started to close and instead of hearing someone hunting me down, I heard a sweet day in spring. I tried keeping my eyes opened so I could stay awake until he falls asleep since I woke him up, but my eyes were heavy and
I fell asleep.
