The Giver (A Fanfiction)
written by (: GONE !!
Hi!! My name is Lila Black. I live in a community of sameness. So that means no color, no emotions, no real family, no choices, and no LOVE. Where I live is called a dwelling and I can't touch anyone outside my imminent family. We have no memories but our own. The memories are kept by the Receiver of Memory the most important person in the community. The Elders keep us in line and make the choices for us. We have morning injections to keep the "stirrings" away. The "stirrings" are dreams of people and that those dreams have rules are broken. I took morning injections until I found out what they were. Now time to start. Let's go back to my dwelling.

"Released." She whispers and leans away. I sat there frozen. This can't be right. No, it's a mistake, right?
"Of course," I say. "I understand." I really don't but I can't say it. "It was nice to see you Cheif Elder. Now I have to see the doctors. Good day." I get up from my seat and walk out. I go to the bike rack and get on my bike. I went to the fork in the road, behind the trees, and ran. I ran so hard that I fell. I scrapped my knees but they didn't bleed, which is very good. I get back on my bike and go to the hospital. I get there and put my bike on the bike rack. I head to the front desk.
"Hello," The nurse says nicely. "How may I help you?" She looks down at me and smiles.
I smile back and say. "Hello, I'm here to get my head checked." As I talk I point to my head where the bandage is. She finally looks at it.
"Oh, my dear. Here come along now pls." She gets out behind the desk and walks with me to a room that's open. I sit on the bed that has this rough paper. Ugh, I hate it here...no strongly dislike. The doctor comes in and sits in his doctor's chair.
"Hello, Lila. Now I hear that you came in because of your head. Am I right?" He asks but of course, he already knows he's right. I nod because he never told me his name even though he is my regular doctor. Dr. Holcomb. He takes off the bandage, that's around my head, and checks the cut. He sighs in relief. "It's not deep so all I have to do is put a small bandage on so it won't be noticeable." After 10 minutes I had a small bandage on my head that my hair covered up. "There, your good to go now, Lila. Hopefully, we don't have this visit again anytime soon." He leads me to the exit door and once I go outside he goes back to his office. I head over to the bike rack and get on my bike. But to my surprise, Conner finds me at the fork in the road.
"Hello, Lil-Flower." He says and sighs at my nickname. I remember our talk but the feeling is gone. He notices something is wrong. "Lila? What's wrong?" He peddles his bike towards mine. He stops right at my bike and puts his hand on mine. I take it back right away. "Lila, what's going on?" The hurt in his voice is clear. I feel...bad but confused.
"Why are you hurt, Conner?" I ask, worried, and still confused.
Sorry for this short chapter but I am still trying to figure some stuff out in my life. Anyway HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!! From your amazing Hufflepuff friend.
