Snape first started Hogwarts on 1st September, 1971. He is 11 years old and he is straight away sorted into Slytherin. This disappointed him because he was hoping to be with lily potter. He knew more curses when he arrived at school than half of the children in 7th year. He joined a gang of Slytherins who later on became death eaters too. In 1976 on the afternoon of Snape’s OWLs Lily stops speaking to Severus because of his fascination with the Dark Arts. In 1976, Sirius Black pulls a trick on Snape which could kill him. Realising this, James Potter saves Snape and his life which means Snape is now in debt to James. Snape hates this. Snape was bullied by the Marauders all through school because he was very awkward and antisocial.
