Interview with Celeste Evergreen!
Good morning all! Today you will read an interview with Celeste Evergreen, HDN Manager and Editor, interviewed by Cathy Granger! But first of all, I would like to thank Celeste for agreeing to be in the interview! Here is the interview:
Cathy: Let's get started! So here's my first question. How do you feel, you who are part of the HDN and the HDN Council?
Celeste: It is my pleasure to be here! To answer your question, I feel very thankful and privileged to who I am in the HDN and HDN Council. I've done so much to get here, and I think all my hard work has paid off, because look where I am, one of the managers and editor for the HDN! I am so thankful for my fellow HDN Council members and all the members of the HDN who have kept the HDN going.
It is an honor and pleasure to be where I am in the HDN. It has been a journey full of ups and downs, and sometimes stress, but I am forever appreciative of where I am in the HDN.
Cathy: It's incredible! Let's go on! What do you think of writers? Are they respectful of the HDN?
Celeste: I love our writers! They are respectful of the HDN and responsible. They are so hard-working, writing articles for the HDN, and I am so thankful they are all here!
Cathy: Happy to hear it. In a previous issue, there has been an interview concerning the new schedule. This new schedule, is it working as expected?
Celeste: Yes, it is working well! I think only publishing on Saturday has made it so our writers can still focus on other things, like school, while still managing to write articles in time to make it for our issues! It is possible that if we keep up this good work, we might be able to start publishing on Saturday and Sunday, but we don't know for sure and have not thought about that yet. I love the idea of publishing on two days, but we must make sure our members will be good with it.
Cathy: It is a good idea to post two days, it will allow readers to read the HDN more often. Finally, last question. Can you answer the question everyone is asking? Why can't a writer be in two newspapers anymore?
Celeste: Hm, well that was decided by the HDN Council, which includes me, to reduce people thinking the HDN copied any other newspaper, because if a writer used an article for both newspapers, that would be what happened. And if writers were in both newspapers, it would cause rivalries between the newspapers, which we don't want, and if a writer is in two newspapers, they may be more active in one and become in-active for the HDN. Also the other newspaper could steal our ideas and organization plans, etc. Plus, I think it is just common sense that you should not be in two newspapers. But I would just like to say that it was not all my idea, so if anyone does not like this idea, please don't blame me, because it was the whole Council's idea. :)
Cathy: Okay Celeste, we learned from you! Thank you for giving us your time.
Celeste : You're welcome, and thank you for the interview!
