Chapter 1: The Beginning Of Time
Chapter 2
Dragons
are known for their wars. They fought with tooth and claw since their
ancestors, reptilian lizard like creatures without the ability to fly or breath
fire, had first originated. These soon died out, for their lust for blood shed
was too great. Soon creatures were evolved from them, dragons and dinosaurs.
The
dinosaurs were mindless beasts, not nearly as clever as dragons, and soon died
out. Dragons survived, although they went into hiding shortly after the meteor
that killed off their cousins struck. Later in life they came back into the
world, and prospered without other life forms to get in their way. Other life on Earth thrived not long after however, and soon the dragons weren’t alone.
There once was a time when dragons
walked freely. They never had to worry about anything bothering them. Back when
dragons first existed, they stood for good, and treated everyone as their
equal. The dragon gods, Atlantis, Raleigh, and Lawrence, made every gift the
dragons ever owned. But one of their greatest and most dangerous gifts started
the biggest war in the world. It was a tree, called the God Pine. The gods
created the tree to give a safe haven to the dragons and protect them from evil
forces. However, they did not foresee what would happen next, for it changed
the world forever.
The God Pine was an enormous tree,
which had the capacity of almost a million creatures. It was peaceful and
provided a safe haven for the dragons that lived there. It had rooms for almost
every use, although the ones for living in had flying holes so there was no
need to enter through the main entrance hall. Curtains of grape vines covered
these holes to provide privacy. This beautiful tree had carved wooden hallways
and slits in the bark for hiding.
When the other non-immortal dragons
came along, the gods made them promise to serve their powers only for good,
never for evil. The dragons promised and brought the habit down to their
children. When the gods were positive that they wouldn't break their promise,
they presented the God Pine to them and they used it as their fortress and home.
They stayed far away from the humans,
for they did not wish to hurt them. Plus whenever humans saw dragons, they
would freak out, brandish their tiny swords, and try to kill them. For many
generations, the dragons lived peacefully among themselves and never harmed a
single creature that wasn't their food, until the gods grew weary. They thought
that the dragons were going to continue living their lives the way they were
used to as they developed their way of life and they grew used to living in a
peaceful manor, so they stopped watching to make sure that the dragons didn't
break out in violence. This was one mistake that future generations would never
make again. How the outcome ended was so unexpected and horrifying, that surely
the world would be destroyed forever.
