1. Keep a perimeter of at least 100 feet when passing the Womping Willow. It can lash out and throw itself against the ground and flatten you.

2. If you hear ominous creaking coming from the Womping Willow, run away; it way be ready to attack you.

3. If you aren't sure how far the Womping Willow can strike, stand back and throw a stick or something at it. If it attacks and can't reach you, that's probably good.

4. Don't try to touch it, it will attack you, it doesn't like to be touched.

5. Don't try provoking it. Most of the time it'll try to attack you if you taunt it, if you're too close and you do this, there;s no guarantee you'll be around to tell the tale!

6. Don't send any wild life around the tree (especially birds). It will attack them too.

7. Any contact with the tree will fail. Same goes for looking at it (in some cases).

8. No sending first years to go near it on a dare as a prank.

9. Standing and pointing at the tree is sure to get you maimed.

10. If you don't want trouble, just don't go near the Womping Willow, period.
