Warwick Davis, the actor who plays Filius Flitwick, said during the filming of the Triwizard Tournament Ball, jokingly:
"It would be nice if Filius jumped into the crowd on stage and had him carried." The next day, the director told him he was going to do it. Warwick didn't have the courage to tell them it was a joke. So as we see in the film, Warwick is carried by the crowd, with stuntmen below him.
