Lesson Eight: Fire Crabs Study Guide

Fire crabs are rated XXX: Competent wizards should cope. When fire crabs attack a person, they spill out fire; making them vicious. Fire crabs are rare & they are safe on the islands of Fiji. Wizards can own a fire crab as a pet. Safety Procedures include wearing decent clothing, never stand behind a fire crab, have your wand with you, & wear dragonhide gloves. The shells are what wizards & Muggles fancy. Muggles want the shells for a high amount of money & will search for all kinds of jewels. Magical people want the shell because they can be used for cauldrons.
The fire crab stores its heat in the shell & it will produce its own heat. This causes damage to the fire crab because it is now homeless. Any kind of water spell will work to help you escape because it extinguishes the fire. The Knockback Jinx will also work because you can force it backwards to get out of its fire range. Be careful not to use a lot of willpower; don't hurt it. Doing deliberate harm to a fire crab can earn you a high charging fee.
Fun Facts
⊱ They are much different than crabs; they have a turtle type of shell & have six legs.
⊱ Fire crabs have grey-green skin with a jeweled shell & live inside it.
⊱ The shell heat only lasts for about three days or when a potion is brewed.
⊱ Doing intended damage to a fire crab can land you in a cell in Azkaban.
