Chapter 1
Draco and Harry had apparated to St Oswalds to see Amos and Hermione, Ginny and I took the floo network to the Headmasters Office. I went last, I could see the pain in Ginny’s face and knew that she and Hermione should go first. As they went from Hermione’s Office at the Ministry of Magic I took the powder in my hands and hoped for the best, what was I going to do with Delphi? This was once again all my fault.
“HOGWARTS!” I called out. I had to remember which exit to take. There are so many. I suddenly heard a bang and felt as though I was choking. I landed in the Headmaster’s study but was coughing and spluttering. I was covered in soot an felt terrible.
“Ginny? Hermione? Did you hear that?” I looked up to see nobody in the room. The only living thing in there was Fawkes the Pheonix.
“Hello? Professor?” I looked around. “Oh, this really isn’t good.” I had a bad feeling that I knew when I was. It was the only time that they hadn’t been to. I transfigured to a phoenix and flew from the school to the Quidditch Pitch. I had to warn Dumbledore.
As I flew across to the Quidditch Pitch I realised that someone else was flying up out of the maze. There was no doubt in my mind that it was Delphi, which meant Scorpius and Albus were with her somewhere. I could hear her…
“CRUCIO” she was shouting…
I couldn’t see them but I couldn’t let her become her mother. I had to stop her.
“Expelliarmus!” I tried not to be seen, I tried to hide. But I needed that spell to work so much that I have never made it create such a loud bang.
“Brachiabindo!” cried a voice from behind me. It was Cedric. I was close but I didn’t know if she could see me. I didn’t, dare turn away from Delphi I had seen enough and my wand was pointing straight at her.
My father had trained me as an Auror. I wasn’t going to let her go now.
“Cedric…” said Albus, “Your father loves you” I smiled. You know we are actually doing a pretty good job with our kids despite everything.
The time-turner started to spin and, with a bang and a crash, we were all travelling back in time again. The boys started to panic and Delphi was growing more and more wild in her thoughts, in her beliefs. She smashed the time-turner and got away. I tried to transfigure back but I couldn’t do anything, I was stuck in the form I had created. With no way of telling them who I was or where I was. The only option I had was to stay close.....
