Chapter 2
Maybe it is different but this is my take on werewolves now. (not what I actually wrote)

My brother-in-law Bill Weasley was attacked by a werewolf in 1997 by Fenrir Greyback. Even though he does not transform into a werewolf, we saw a change in him almost immediately. He became withdrawn, he knew that people would be looking at him. He was aware of the stigma attached to his scar. His change in taste was easy to notice but as he was marrying a French woman, we put that more down to her cooking than his taste. All in all, we don’t see him as anything different. We love him just as much now as we ever did.

My friend, teacher, protector, father of my godson and…..
husband to my half-sister’s cousin (because my family isn’t complicated enough), was a full werewolf.
He transfigured on a full moon ever since he was a child. His name, Remus Lupin.
My uncle used to make him his Wolfsbane Potion and he took it regularly. He meant a lot to me.
He was an amazing teacher and I owe him a lot. I learnt first-hand, and at a young age, how cruel people can be when it comes to Lycanthropy. I learnt that nobody understood, not even my uncle. I saw how people would condemn him for being sick and I knew it wasn’t fair. He left the school before parents started complaining. He did it for Dumbledore. I doubt Dumbledore would have paid him that kindness.

The last werewolf I really knew was Fenrir Greyback. I met him here and there. I was one of his untouchable people because he was part of the Death Eaters. I didn’t like him. He was vicious, mean and everything that people probably consider werewolves to be. He targeted, attacked and preyed on people. Even as a person, even with no Lycanthropy he was nasty. But you get them. There are those that are good and those that are bad. It is the way of the world.

And now people wonder what did the man that everyone thought looked like a Vampire say to his niece and ward when she was young and being taught by a werewolf?

The answer was nothing. It was actually Professor Lupin that told me what to do if I were ever to be attacked. And really, most of you will not be all that surprised. He told me to transfigure into an animal. At the time I was 14 so not very good at becoming large animals but werewolves are more likely to attack humans than animals and won’t know the difference between a transfigured animal and an actual animal. He told me that any animal will do. JUST HIDE. My preference, at that time, was to become a black puppy (hense Padfoot & Pup) but I started working on larger animals.
