Chapter 1

LESSON 1

Wand-Lighting Charm: It is a simple Charm that lights up the tip of the caster's wand. It is like a muggle world flashlight. The light produced is a light yellow when charged properly. If you do not charge the spell enough the light will be a white and dimly lit. Overcharging the spell will cause the light to turn a bright red. Lumos is not used only for avoiding the dark. You can use it to safely navigate your way around a dangerous area or foe. There are some creatures that do not like bright light, and casting this charm is a sure way to repel them. To cast Lumos you must carefully pronounce the incantation, Loo-mos. The wand movement is simple. Move your wand forward and then move it up into a backwards loop. When the time comes to put out your wand, a charm known as the Wand-Extinguishing Charm is needed. The incantation is Nox, pronounced, NOCKS. A flick of the wand or slight jab in any direction is all that is needed for the movement.

LESSON 2

Verdimillious Charm: This charm will shoot out green colored sparks or electrical energy. The sparks when used as a defense will explode around the target and surround them with the discharge. This will cause some slight pain for your opponent. The pain won’t do much more than cause a stinging sensation. You will need to be able to immediately cast another spell or be able to remove yourself from the situation quickly if you choose to use this spell. To cast the spell at an opponent say the incantation, pronounced vur-duh-MILL-ee-us, and move your wand in a forward slashing motion. You should end the movement with your wand pointed at your target. When not used for defense, the Verdimillious Charm can be used to illuminate a room. This is done by saying the incantation while waving your wand in a circular motion above your head. Make sure that you are not aiming at anything other than thin air. A green will then shoot out of the wand and explode several feet away. You will see a blinding flash of emerald light that will light up the area for a short time period. Doing this will also cause any hidden objects, such as doors or platforms, that have been hidden by dark magic to be revealed. However, once the spell has ended they will no longer be revealed.

Vermillious Duo Charm: Similar to the Verdimillious Charm. When cast it will emit red and orange sparks out of the wand. You will also see some reddish colored smoke, so do not panic. To perform this charm speak the incantation, vur-duh-MILL-ee-us-doo-oh, and move your wand the same as you would to perform the Verdimillious Charm.

Spongify: When cast properly, the target of this spell will soften. It will develop a more rubbery texture and may become slightly lighter. It does not conduct well will metals or stones. If you try to cast the charm on another person, their hair and skin may become softer. To perform this spell, clearly speak the incantation, SPUN-jee-fye, while moving your wand in an “S” motion. If done correctly, a pink light will shoot out your wand and surround the target. Keep in mind that this spell works best on small, handheld objects. As you charge the spell, you will notice the color changing from pink to a purpleish-pink. Once complete, this spell will last anywhere from a minute to an hour. The longer you charge the spell the longer it will last.
