“Go Percy!” Annabeth shouted. I looked down at her and knew it was a mistake the second I turned around.Clarissa’s fist collided with my stomach. I fell down to the ground, narrowly missing the lava pit. I looked up and saw that Clarissa had made it to the topof the rock wall. Everyone cheered while Annabeth and Grover brushed dirt offof my shirt.Clarissa hopped down effortlessesly and landed right in front of me.

  “Hey Jackson! Now, how many failures have you had, including this?”Clarissa asked in a mocking tone. She pretended to count her fingers.

  “Stay back Clarissa. At least Percy has actually SUCCEEDED in his quests,” argued Grover.

  “Whatever. Chiron wants to see you guys,” said Clarissa. I sighed and walked to the Big House with the two friends I could trust not to make fun of me.
