Lesson Eight: Whistle to Watch Study Guide

Chapter 9

Whistle

The most common is pea whistles. Air goes through it & has a small pea sized ball inside the whistle. It is silver, has a round body, & has a neck that is rectangular in shape. It creates a loud pitched screech when air blows into it. It jingles when shook & clinks when dropped. It has a metallic taste & has no smell. When touched, the edges are not sharp; rounded & smooth.

Watch

Pocket watches is what we are using. To add a design to it, you need more concentration. It is silver & round. There is a white backdrop with the clock & has is a reflective glass. It has a clunking sound when dropped. When you open the lid, it clicks & tick-tock goes the clock. It has a metallic taste & smells like metal. The clasp is a bit bumpy, but the rest is smooth.

Spell

A thing that can go wrong is that the watch could have a high pitched screech, the lid doesn't open, or the watch isn't the correct time. This spell was created in 1907 by Johannes Miffington. He played a piccolo. We use this spell in today's world to learn; nothing more.

Incantation: Mutans Sonum (MOO-tahns SO-noom)
Wand Movement: Tap the whistle twice with your wand.
Concentration: Medium
Willpower: Low
