Chapter 1

Dear Diary,

Today was a rather eventful day. I actually left the office for a walk around the garden at the back of the school. It's something I don't get to do everyday considering the amount of grading to be done and mischiefs the students are constantly up to. It was breathtakingly beautiful and I wondered what took me so long to notice it. I guess I've been drowning myself in so much work that I haven't realised it.

The holiday back to France, to visit the relatives, turned out amazing. I also got to met up with Jacques and Lycia, my best friends who are getting married this fall! I'm so very excited for them. Apparently, she has already picked up a gown and the location. I'm sure she's going to be like a princess because that's what she has always dreamt of when we were little girls. We would twirl around in oversized white dresses and take turns to be the bride and the groom. Now, this is finally turning real. Jacques would make a great husband. After all, they have been dating for almost 3 years. It was about time for the man to propose to her. Well, he knows all about us, and of course, more about her. I'm glad our friendship didn't fall apart 4 years back when things turned weird between the 3 of us. Now, I'm just really happy for them. I can't wait to go back in the fall for their wedding.

The trip to Asia was fruitful. Well, Astarael came a little later than expected. Things got a little awkward between Alex and I because we were mostly the trio rather than the duo. We merely met at the hotel lobby each day and went to the research centre to discuss on the Great Wall of China. Academically, it was really an engaging trip. I don't think I dare think more. After all, he has Aerianna, or does he not? I'm not too sure anymore. I guess we'll just always be really great friends. I don't think I want to tarnish that for anything else.

On the other hand, School's in and Holiday's out. I can't wait to officially start teaching as History of Magic Professor. I have to admit, it's a huge responsibility and these shoes are going to be an easy one to fill. I would really hope that the students would enjoy because after all, it's history.

Have you ever wonder why isn't it "her"story? Hmmm that always boggled me.
