Basic Spell Usage

Chapter 5

In typical magic you point you say a word and the spell does the rest right? Well not in Chaos Magic.  This magic is used to create and destroy.  You must as you do as you do in Alchemy be able to see the outcome.  Chaos Magic will do what you want till you don't follow through, if your resolve is too weak the magic will not wok with you at all.  If you break down or if you falter the magic will eat you alive.  There are some basics to a spells you must know.

1) Know the Spell: In Chaos Magic you must know what the spell is for. If you don't know then the magic doesn't know how to help you.

2) Parameters: You must know how far the spell will go, what it will effect, how long and why you want it to happen as such.

3) After effects: Making Spell last forever is not hard you just will it and the magic will cling to the object unchanging.  This is problematic for first timers because they believe that most of their spells should last forever.

4) Returning matter: If  matter is returning to it's original shape after a spell you must intend for it to return that way or it won't return the way you want it.

Spell work can be quick and you can disrupt spells before they reach any stage, but most of Chaos magic is done without a wand so most of this is done in a quick mental thought. Over thinking the spell will cause to many variables. The increased mental variables will be addressed in Volume 2 of the seiries.
