"Friends"
Chapter 7
Severus Snape hated meeting Lily like this. Her spying on him and his friends. Why couldn't she just leave it alone? She was always accusing his friends of being evil and supporting Voldemort. He knew she was right. He was also supporting Voldemort. But all he really wanted was for Lily to be safe and stay out of things that were none of her business.
And of all people she was with. Potter. She knew how he felt about the jerk. But now she seemed to be going out of her way to make him upset. Of course she wasn't, but that was how Snape saw it.
Mulciber was the one who spoke. Snape knew he hated Lily the most out of his so called "friends".
"Don't you dare call her that," James growled, pointing his wand at Mulciber.
"Potter? Are you Evan's new boy toy?" Avery laughed.
"Shut up Avery," Lily snapped.
"Anything to say Severus. Or are you just going to remain silent," Mulciber grinned nastily at Snape.
"Leave them be," Snape said it so quietly it was like he didn't say anything.
"What?" Mulciber asked.
"I said leave them be," Snape snapped. "If they're stupid enough to follow us, let them."
"Have you lost it?" Avery stared at Snape in disbelief.
"What have you lost now?"
Flitwick entered the room and stared at five students.
"My book Professor," Mulciber lied.
"And why would your book be in here? It's the first day back," Flitwick crossed his arms over his chest.
"I think I left it here last year."
"Learn to lie better, Mulciber. Now back to the feast all of you before I decide to give you detention."
"Yes Professor."
Instead of walking back to the Great Hall though the two Slytherin boys hurried in the opposite direction. Snape stood facing Lily and James.
"You can go," Snape scowled at James.
"Gladly," James spat, turning on his heel and storming off back towards the Great Hall.
Lily started to follow James but Snape caught her arm.
"Let me go."
Snape obediently let go of her.
"Lily, just leave me alone and leave my friends alone."
With that Snape jogged to catch up with his friends leaving a confused Lily standing in the corridor.
"Get going Miss Evans."
Lily nodded her head and walked back to the Great hall thinking about what Snape had told her.
