"Good morning, mother. Good morning, father. Good morning, grandmother" greeted Ilana Rose Seagull, coming down the stairs to the dining room, all ready for the first day of school.

"Good morning, honey. Your mother and father are not back from their meeting yet." replied Ilana's grandmother, peeking under her glasses that were pushed far down on her nose. Ilana's parents were thinking about getting a new car, so they arranged a meeting with the dealership from 6:00 - 7:30,  but they were late, since it was already 8:00.

"Okay, grandmother."

Ilana went to the kitchen, and toasted some bread. I wonder what my new school will be like. she wondered. 

After toasting, and putting on a lot of butter, which was what Ilana loved to eat, she went back to the dining room. She set down the plate with her breakfast on it, and started to eat, taking small bites due to her nervousness. 

"Ilana, dear, what's wrong?" inquired Ilana's grandmother, noticing Ilana's nervousness. "I thought you loved bread with butter."

"I'm j-just scared that there will be even more mean people at my new school." stammered Ilana, tears forming in her eyes. "Every place that I go to seems to have even more bullies than before."

Ilana's tears started to drip onto her bread, and soon her tears turned into a heavy rainstorm.

"Ilana, honey, don't cry." said Ilana's grandmother in her soothing voice. "One reason why people bully you is because you are too sensitive. You let people bring you down. I think it's time for you to rise."

Her words seemed to echo all around the house.
