Introduction
Chapter 1
A starting note is this book will only teach you the complex
art of constructing a wand. The study to master such a craft requires years and
years of studying and is very dangerous to try untrained. I also take no credit
for the information in this book. Research has gone into this and a large
amount of the facts come directly from sources with the explanations altered
slightly for clarity.
To understand creating a Wand you
must first define them. A wand is a
magical object used by a witch or wizard to channel their magical powers
through to help focus the power on a certain point. Nonverbal spells are
possible but take quite a bit of skill and practice to achieve. A wand will always contain a core of a magical
substance surrounded by a type of wood, though it often will also have embellishments
or extra detail. Wandlore is the basis of understanding the creation of wands.
Ollivander, a name I’m sure you’re all familiar with, studied this extensively;
one of the reasons he is one of the most well-known wand makers in history. Wands do sometimes correspond to the Celtic
Tree Calendar, but that is a more extensive topic than we plan to cover now.
