Whatever you do, don't tell them what you really think.
Chapter 4
They say: Do'N't TeLl ThEm WhAt YoU rEaLlY tHiNk. Why not?
Laughter. "Dang. As if that's not a sin?" The words ring out and beat senselessly against my eardrums. I process them, think of what I want to say, than say the opposite. "Yeah. Totally." I've never been so glad to be able to hide behind a mask before.
I'm wringing my hands, rocking on the seat of the couch. "You know when, like, people like the same gender-?" Immediately, yelling. "THAT'S A SIN. GOD HATES THOSE PEOPLE!" The words hurt me, cause I never thought I'd hear my friend say that. I run my hand through my hair and bite my lip. "Yeah, yeah, I know."
I wake up in a grey stone room, strapped to a chair. Suddenly, out of no where, smoke starts pouring into the room. A low voice says "Breath it in. It's okay." I try to take shallow breaths, but I end up coughing and falling over in the chair. The voice says "This is okay. This is normal." Slowly, I stop breathing...
I see her and, even in a dream, she is stunning. Than a voice whispers in my ear: "Sinful..."
"You harassed me, you really think I'd forgive you?" "It been over a year... I'm really sorry... I can't stop thinking about you."
