A Guide To Hogwarts Is Here
This is a guide to everything at Hogwarts is Here, from the classes to the essays. More content will be added when I have completed all the classes and have more time. MAJOR revisions will come in the next few days because of the Professor change and I want a new format to make it simpler.

The Classes
Chapter 2
HiH offers many great educational opportunities in magic. They are all very interesting and unique in their own way. Some of these lessons may even help you in Muggle school. Below, I ranked the classes based off how much notes must be taken (if you take notes), the amount of homework, and the ease of understanding the lessons. Based off my observations, this is the order the classes can be taken in:
1. DADA- Defense Against the Dark Arts may not be the easiest class, but it does create a good start. It has clear lessons, which are easy to take notes on, and no books for extra reading. They also have nice pictures and the opportunity to learn about many spells. The essays are not too bad, and there is a quiz once in a while.
2. Herbology- Herbology starts with some discussion board assignments where there is no limit to what you write. This prepares for later where writing essays is required. It also gives a good chance to share your thoughts with others. However, there is a massive review project at the end. This weeds out the workers from the shirkers.
3. Transfiguration- I do not know much about the new Transfiguration teacher. However, I think that the note length is still the same, or possibly longer. The lesson order has changed, along with the quizzes and essays. Professor Prince's class seems manageable, but with long notes and a few essays mixed in between.
4. Potions- Potions does not have a word limit in its essays. Due to this, anyone can write as much he or she wants. Also, there are quizzes that can help boost your grade if an essay is bombed. There is a fair mix between the assignments, and the notes can be long. This is a good divide between the first set and second set of classes.
5. Astronomy- Astronomy has short assignments and clear lessons to take notes. I don't think these changed with Professor Polgara, but I'm not sure because I finished the class under Afoloyan. I have no idea what the changes were from Professor LeStrange. Right now, the notes are sometimes long, but manageable. I do not know if reading from the textbook is required, but the notes almost double if it is.
6. HoM- History of Magic does not have the hardest of assignments, but it does have massive quantities of reading and taking notes. Sometimes, it gets hard to focus. I started this class with Professor Balog, and finished with Professor Maddox. Although this class may pour with lots of information, the homework is not too much, and the quizzes and tests are doable.
7. Charms- Charms is a class which focuses mostly on components to spells. There is a journal assignment which requires 2-5 paragraphs of written work for that week. In Charms, many notes are required to be taken, on the lesson and the book. Just be careful not to be too overloaded in this class because the journal can get extensive. Also, one can get confused sometimes between some concepts like focus and concentration. Just make sure to try your best!
Of course, you are welcome to take multiple or all of the classes at once. This is just a guide for those who are looking to start enrolling. Also know that first years have no due dates. Do not fret if you enrolled in a class and want to back out. However, if you want to be a second year, all 7 classes must be taken and completed.
Currently, I have finished all the classes but Potions. I do not think my opinions for the new classes will be sufficient until I finish those classes (it might be a while for DADA and Transfiguration). For those that are completely new to this site, here is a list of professor changes:
DADA- Professor Mae and Madame Mae ---> Professor Silvers
Transfiguration- Professor Darkstorm ---> Professor Prince
Potions- Professor Nivera ---> Professor Batyaeva
Astronomy- Professor LeStrange ---> Professor Afoloyan ---> Professor Polgara
HoM- Professor Balog ---> Professor Maddox
DADA, Transfiguration, and Potions professor changed because they wanted to leave the site for their own reasons. They took their lesson material and books with them. Astronomy changed from Professor LeStrange for a reason I don't know. Professor Afoloyan was just a substitute until a permanent professor (Professor Polgara) could be found. Professor Balog used to be the Head of House of Slytherin and the HoM professor along with headmaster duties. At the end of the year, he resigned these 2 positions to take full headmaster duties. Professor Maddox took over the HoM class.
In the following chapters, I will go more in detail about each class.
For comparison purposes, here is how I ranked the classes before the professor change:
DADA-1, Herbology-2, Astronomy-3, HoM-4, Transfiguration-5, Charms-6, Potions-7
