Poppy threw her arms around her sister. "You're a Seer!"
Daisy smiled. "Maybe so. I can't see people's past or future. But I can do something that's a little less than ordinary.
"When I was a little girl, I could always make things do what I wanted. I could make a sheep move where I wanted it to go, or I could make my mother take me to the candy stall at the market. It was strange, but I thought nothing of it. My mother said that hard work and sunshine and good, hearty food would take it out of me. But of course it didn't.
"I could sometimes even see what people were thinking, clear as if they'd said it to my face. I aways knew to make friends by their thoughts. It was a strange skill, but it was kind of fun. Then, I met Poppy. Every thought that she held in her mind was complex and unique and beautiful. I realized that I had met my best friend."
Liana thought for a moment before speaking. "There is a legend that says, 'When gypsy twins are born in the month of June, one will be a Seer. The other, the elder twin, will possess strange powers unknown to all except other eldest gypsy twins born in the month of June.'"
Poppy looked at her mother. "That is a strange story indeed."
