Chapter 16: Valerian
Chapter 16
Name: Valeriana officinalis
Alias: Valerian, Garden Valerian, Gardern Heliotrope, All-Heal
The sedative and anxiolytic properties in valerian make it perfect for certain potions, such as the Draught of Living Death and the Forgetfulness Potion, as well as simple calming draughts. The root is so powerful itself, that taking just a little bit of it powdered in a pill or tea can leave you feeling more relaxed and soothed than you will have felt in ages. This plan also doesn't interact with other medications normally, though you would want to consult a healer before taking it with your other potions. Warning though, in it's raw and dried form, this plant smells more than a troll, and tastes worse than the feeling of impending doom you feel when you fail your N.E.W.Ts.
