Harry Potter One Shots
written by Briar Rose
It's a simple Harry Potter one shots! For all age XD +Please note that I cannot write BL(like Drarry), GL(like Linny) or ships with large age gaps(like Snamione). I might write Fanon... but only if somebody requests it, and it's not BL/GL/large age gap. Thanks :)

Chapter 6
FOREWORD
I just like, lost all my work... darn :(
sorry! Anyway, I dislike Snily. This is just some friendship edition? or whatever...
This is going to cover Severus Snape’s regret, Lily Evan’s bitterness, and the past memories, back when they were friends!
If I have any canon marauders era ships left, please inform me! Thank you!
Severus Snape grimaced. He glared at the back of Avery. He just lost Lily...
“Snape! What are you doing?” asked Mulciber from behind him. His voice was extremely throaty. He sounded like he was a bullfrog. Or was it just Severus’s imagination?
“Nothing,” said Snape quickly. He couldn’t afford to get on Avery and Mulciber’s bad side, even though he detested them now.
“Pfft, whatever!” snarled Avery. “Good thing you aren’t friends with that Mudblood anymore.”
“I never agreed with you, but I see now I do!” exclaimed Mulciber. “She acts like she’s the best-”
“She is,” murmured Severus.
“What did you say?” said Mulciber sharply.
“Nothing. You must be hearing things.”
Mulciber rolled his eyes. “Anyway, she acts like she’s a total saint, but she’s actually not. She talks about James Potter like a toerag. I mean, that can’t be a saint, can it?”
“Isn’t that natural?” interrupted Avery, was a snide look on his face. “She’s filthy Mudblood.”
Mulciber snickered. “How right you are! I agree again! This is quite a day! Filthy Mudbloods are just wrong. They shouldn’t exist at all!”
Severus balled his fists. He must... he must... stay calm. Yes. Stay calm.
He sighed. He regretted it. Calling her a Mudblood. Why had the word slipped out in front of Lily?
(Erm... does it look like I’m a Snape-hater? Snape used the word, just not to Lily... well, I’m not a hater!)
Lily Evans looked around. Mary, Marlene, and Alice were dancing around. Emmeline wasn’t yet dancing, but she had a greatly amused and humoured look on her face.
“My best friend just called me that. Why are you dancing?”
“Isn’t it simple, Lily?” sang Marlene. “You’re not friends with that scum anymore! Oops, sorry. Words... but he deserves it! He’s so oily.”
“Calling me a Mudblood is one thing,” sang Mary in a soprano, “but you? You were his... best... friend!” each note became higher.
“The word just slipped out.” said Lily, surprised that she still defended Sev. “Sev isn’t-”
“Oho!” said Marlene loudly.
“Huh?”
“You shouldn’t say ‘Sev’! He doesn’t deserve such a nickname, nor a friend like you.”
“He doesn’t. I still have traumas of what Avery and Mulciber did to me,” Mary said, shivering.
“Well, Severus-”
“NO! Snape.”
“Snape. Okay, Snape was my friend, and I don’t want you talking ill about him.”
“Gee, you’re so loyal!” laughed Alice. “You could have been in Hufflepuff.”
Lily smiled. She felt a lump in her throat, nad had a longing to race to the bathroom. “I’m going to sleep. Sorry... just not in the greatest mood right now. Okay?”
Marlene and Mary made sighs, and Alice just smiled, but Emmeline said, sounding definite, “She deserves her rest. Lily, go and rest.”
Lily gave Emmeline a grateful look, and Emmeline raised her eyebrows, and ushered Lily away.
“Have some rest, Lils!” called Alice.
“Yes, we’ll be fine on our own, really.” Marlene grinned. She held up some snacks.
“Are they from the kitchen?”
“Didn’t sneak it. House-elf gave it to me.” Marlene mumbled.
“Sure, Marlene.”
“Are you going to sleep?”
Lily hesitated at Mary’s question. Was she?
“Yes, I think so.”
“Okay.” Emmeline said quickly. “Go on.”
“Wait! How do you feel?” asked Alice.
Lily sighed, and sank down in a red, comfy couch were Alice was. Alice held Lily’s hand.
“Sorry?”
“No, it’s fine. I just...” Lily frowned. How did she feel? Sad? Angry? Betrayed? Finally she managed, “Bitter.”
With Emmeline rushing her, Lily went up to the dorm.
Severus blinked. He had snuck into the Headmaster’s room and poured out his memories there. He saw young Lily smiling with a blonde girl...
Petunia Evans! thought Severus immediately. That horse-faced girl. She was so ugly compared to Lily.
“Tuney!” said Lily brightly. “Can you fly too?”
“No, I can’t.” said Petunia. There was bitter in her voice, but Severus sensed longing in Petunia’s tone.
“Too bad, Tuney,” sighed Lily.
“Sev,” said Lily solemnly. “What are dementoids?”
“Not dementoids, dementors.”
“So what about them? Just thinking about them just sends shivers in my body.” Lily mumbled.
“They should,” Severus told her. “They guard the wizard prison, Azkaban.”
“Why do you go there?”
“Illegal magic? Well, you go against the law, you’re in there, I think.”
“Oh, Severus!”
Severus saw his lips curl with satisfaction as Lily said his name. Now she’ll never say that again, he thought bitterly.
“Yes?” He saw him say.
“Is using magic at home against the law too? And... how are your parents?”
Severus’s face hardened. “My parents are the usual.”
Severus gritted his teeth. He remembered the days he just saw his mother, Eileen Prince be tortured by Tobias Snape.
“Yes... I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine. Anyway, if you’re just a student and not an adult, yes, it’s against the law.” Severus saw himself respond quickly.
Lily’s face whitened. “But I’ve used magic!”
“I told you before,” said Severus, a slight smile in his face, “we don’t have our wands yet, so it’s fine. But once you go to Hogwarts-”
“I can’t.” Lily finished. She smiled warmly at Severus. Severus saw himself grin, and he grinned too. It was so warm when she smiled at him like that. “It almost makes me wish I didn’t go.”
“You’ll make friends. You’ll learn extraordinary magic there!”
“Friends? I’m actually fine just being friends with you!” Lily giggled.
Lily blinked. Was this a dream? She smiled. Was this Alice in Wonderland? Anyway, she began to venture the places in her dreams. Then her eyes widened. There was a blonde girl with brown eyes, about fourteen. There was a brown haired boy, looking extremely ashamed. He had brilliant green... blue... well, that hue eyes.
“Um, excuse m-”
“How could you?” whispered the girl.
But then Lily realized the girl was saying something totally different. The girl’s lips weren’t moving ‘How could you’, it was saying ‘Why?’
Then Lily again realized the voice coming out of the girl was hers.
“Sev! Don’t be friends with Avery and Mulciber – they’re really bad.”
“Don’t tell me who my friends are, Lily. Please. I like hanging out with them.”
Lily sighed. “Don’t blame me when they prove to be very bad people. I’m just saying – they might put distance in our friendship, Sev. I so disapprove.”
“What did they do to you?”
Lily stammered. “I... they...”
“If they do something wrong directly to you, tell me.” Sev – no, Severus – no, Snape said roughly.
Lily nodded. “Fine, Sev.”
Now the blonde girl with brown eyes were looking away from the brunet green eyed boy, who was staring at her accusingly.
“Can you stop accusing me and my friends?” Snape muttered darkly.
Lily flushed. “I’m sorry, Sev, but I detest them. I keep hearing things about them...”
“They are my friends,” repeated Snape. Lily watched herself and Snape quarrel more, and thought bitterly, He defends them! Has the nerve to! And later, they attack Mary! How dare they! She still... she still has traumas, you scumbag! She could freely throw out insults now...
Lily shrieked in her dream. The voices of Severus Snape and she dried out. Instead, an unfamiliar female voice was talking. It was a rather pleasant voice, but her tone was extremely unpleasant.
“Shut up, Peter,” said the girl. The blonde girl was eyeing the boy, Peter, coldly.
“Brianna!”
Brianna scowled. “You disgust me.” Then she stalked away.
Lily felt bad for both Brianna and Peter. They shouldn’t break up like this... right? They were breaking up, right? Well, Lily thought, it was proven quickly.
“We’re done, Evans.”
Evans?
“Brianna Potter!”
Lily’s heart actually stopped. Oh... no matter. She desperately wanted to help them. Then their voices morphed into Lily and Snape’s.
“We’re done if you keep on like this, Sev.”
“Lily!”
Lily felt bitter. Their friendship was so nice. Now... it was ending. Perhaps forever.
She woke up, feeling an urge to start a new life... maybe starting by talking to Potter.
...
