Harry Potter One Shots

written by Briar Rose

It's a simple Harry Potter one shots! For all age XD +Please note that I cannot write BL(like Drarry), GL(like Linny) or ships with large age gaps(like Snamione). I might write Fanon... but only if somebody requests it, and it's not BL/GL/large age gap. Thanks :)

Chapter 4
Arthur stared at Molly. Was she ever going to get over the death of Fred? Of course, he was very upset by his death, and so was everybody else. Just not as much as Molly. Molly didn't eat. She refused too. Molly and George were both very unhealthy.

“Molly...”

Molly did not answer.

“Look, please. You have to-“

"Fred's dead." said Molly. "Even when Percy left, we knew... at least we knew he was alive, right?"

Arthur didn't answer. What was he supposed to say...?

"He's never coming back," Molly sobbed. "I'm worried for George too... he's so devastated!"

“You’re more devastated, Molly. You should calm down for the sake of George,” Arthur said.

“I wish I could see Fred again.”

Arthur wanted to make Molly happy. But how? Now, it seemed as the only way to help Molly was to help her see Fred again; but Fred was dead. And no one could resurrect the dead.

“Molly, think. Fred wouldn’t want you to be sad, would he?”

Molly looked at Arthur. Feeling quite encouraged, Arthur continued. “Fred always wanted his family to be happy, Molly.” And, although it wasn’t quite true, he added, “That’s why he made Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes with George. Well, he wanted us to be well-living.”

Molly sniffed. That was all. But Arthur had to continue. “George will recover, and so should you, Molly. I… you want George to recover from Fred’s death, right?”

Molly sniffed again and said, “Of course I want him to… to recover. I’m hoping to invite his friend to help him.”

“But first, you should. He’ll be devastated because his mother is very depressed.” Arthur coaxed.

Molly raised her head. “Thank you, Arthur,” she said, her voice sunk. “I… I… I just see Fred whenever I glance at Fred and George’s old room.” A tear rolled down her cheek. “But…” she hesitated. “We have to move on, right? Never forgetting Fred once in our lives, though.”

“You don’t have to forget to go on.” Arthur murmured.

Molly nodded. “I… I…. Who do you think, Arthur, can help George?”

“I don’t know, maybe Fre–” Arthur stopped. What was he saying? He felt tears rising, too. But he forcefully pushed them down. He, after all, was the one who said Molly should be strong. “Angelina?”

“Good idea,” Molly said, and gave Arthur a watery smile.

“We should keep on remembering and respecting Fred’s memory, but we should…” he choked. He couldn’t bring himself to say it.

“Move on?”

“Yes.” Arthur couldn’t say anything else.
He sometimes thought he was being so light on the problem. Shouldn’t Molly be allowed to grieve for her lost, dead, son? Was Arthur doing to wrong thing?
But Arthur knew, despite grieving, they should live on. The world didn’t stop for Fred, and neither should they.
But then again, he thought, Am I too ruthless?

“Arthur, thank you for giving me good advice,” Molly said. “You’re right… the others are having the same problems… maybe we can grieve together with the Creeveys. They lost their son, too. Colin.”

Arthur felt respect for his wife. “Wonderful idea, Molly.” He couldn’t be cheerful, but was quite delighted to see Molly brighter than she was a few minutes ago.
