Devil’s Snare

The Devil’s Snare is Scottish plant that is easily recognizable by it’s vibrant green colour and waving tendrils. They grow in damp dark places although have no seed, Devil’s Snare can only be collected. If you have collected a Snare then ensure the space around it is well lit to prevent it from spreading out. The Devil’s Snare’s preferred method of killing is strangulation. If you find yourself in the tendrils of this plant then the best thing to do is play dead, or cast Lumos Maximi or Incendio (or anyother heat/light based spell). The Devil’s Snare is used as an assassination technique or for protecting treasure however have has a Ministry of Magic sanction preventing their growth within a thousand metres of a high Muggle traffic area.

FIRST AID

If treating a person for strangulation try Rennervate (A reviving spell). If they have swallowed their own tongue use Anapneo.

Bubotuber

The Bubotuber also hails from Scotland and is a plant that bears a marked resemblance to a large black slug. If squeezed it excretes a bright yellow pus with an offensive odour. If diluted the pus can treat acne but if undiluted is highly corrosive. Bubotuber should be grown in the dark in nutrient rich soil with lots of Dragon Dung. To dilute the pus mix with liquid Dittany or Gillywater.

FIRST AID

Run affected area under cold water for five minutes then apply Ditanny. It is recommended to have a potion for the pain.
