CHAPTER TWO: Your In. Now What?

Well now that your in Hogwarts, registered and enrolled as a new student, you are from this point on, in. But what to do next? The first thing that I would do is to update your profile, don't worry about the classes just yet, we will get to those in due time.

YOUR PROFILE:

Once you get to your profile you are going to want to edit it, so that it is as accurate as possible. But first you might notice that there are two sections to your profile page, your personal information (Name, birth date , time zone, ect.) and a big text box with the words 'About Me' on the top of it. You are going to have to edit both of these sections. You want to set the settings to what apply to you and to you only.

EDIT PROFILE:

This is going to be the first thing that you see on the page. In this section, you are going to have several different text boxes. These text boxes are:

- First Name

- Last Name

- Birthday

- TimeZone

- Gender

- Custom Profile URL

- About Me

- Update Photo

All of these things are important to fill in so pay attention! 

Your First and Last Name:

I understand that some people do not want to reveal their real name on an internet site. So for your first and last name you can put anything that you would like, but it has to be appropriate for younger students.

Birthday:

For your birthday you need to fill in all of the boxes. In the first box you are going to see two letters: DD. These letters represent the day that you were born. In the next box you will see two more letters: MM. These letters represent the month that you were born in. In the last box you will see four letters: YYYY. These letters represent the year that you were born. Once you are done with that, you should have your whole birthday filled out like this:

This is just an example of a birthday, you DO NOT have to put this as you birthday!

Custom Profile URL:

Okay this is a cool thing that you can do to express yourself on the site. This is a custom profile url, what it is, is that when someone goes to view your profile, they will see whatever you put in the box at the end of the web address. For example if you put, thesmartestwitch, in that box the web address will look like this:

www.hogwartsishere.com/thesmartestwitch

Time Zone and Gender:

Your timezone and gender is pretty much self-explanatory. You put down your timezone (if you dont know it either look it up or ask someone!) and your gender is if you are a male or a female.

About Me:

This section of your profile is where you really can express yourself! For me it is the best part of the whole profile. You can really get to know what people like when it comes to their 'About Me' section. So be creative and have fun with this section!

Update Photo:

This section is also pretty much self-explanatory too. You can change you photo to a photo of yourself or a photo of anything that you like really. But beware! The photo can only be a certain amount of pixels so have a backup plan!

So now that you have edited your profile, people will begin to know you and become your friends. If you don't have any friends yet, I'll happily become your friend!
