Chapter 4
(she hugs him, forgetting that she is in a past body, yet hoping he understand and makes her way to the castle for Breakfast. In the courtyard she stands and looks, clean undestroyed. In the Great Hall, the tables Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. All eating. People that she hadn’t seen since the Battle of Hogwarts, smiling, laughing. The teachers table with Snape, Dumbledore something was pulling them both back. But why? It couldn’t be that important. What was going on? She had to pull herself together. There was Cedric her Cedric. If it was because of him then why was George there too?)
LOUISA SNAPE: Stop it! (she said to herself) just get a grip. (she wanted so much to be with him maybe just to say hello, she sits at the Hufflepuff table)
CEDRIC: Hi Lou,
LOUISA SNAPE: Hi
ALICE: What you doing here? Isn’t it Fred and George’s birthday?
LOUISA SNAPE: Yeah have you seen the fuss over on Gryffindor?
CEDRIC: Guess it’s quieter here.
LOUISA SNAPE: Much rather it. (they glance across)
ALICE: You looked at the Defence against the Dark Arts Homework yet?
LOUISA SNAPE: No haven’t had a chance. Seems everything is er… last minute at the moment. What’s it on?
ALICE: Hmm, things that sting.
LOUISA SNAPE: spiders. Acromantula in particular and make sure you put the repelling charm in there. There are a
few potions that you can use but useless if you come up against one considering that you’d have to actually spend time making the potion. But, um… (by this time several people were watching her. Conscious that she was making a spectacle of herself she changed the subject).
CEDRIC: Ever been to Cheddar Gorge?
LOUISA SNAPE: Not yet.
ANTONY: Bet you just made that up.
CEDRIC: No, it’s real
HANNAH: Isn’t that just cheese?
CEDRIC: I’m going with my parents, if you want to come.
LOUISA SNAPE: I’d like that.
HANNAH: Are you doing a cheese tour with your winnings?
CEDRIC: Not exactly, But I think it would be fun.
ANTONY: With all your winnings you could travel the world! Not just to the other side of the hill.
CEDRIC: I know but I could use it later, you know for a family.
LOUISA SNAPE: I think that sounds like a nice idea. (blushes)
(From the door came a tap. With a female student stood in Durmstrang robes.)
DUMBLEDORE: Yes? (she walks to the front of the Hall as everyone mutters)
STUDENT: (rolls down a scroll and turns to the Hall) Her Royal Highness is requested by His Royal Highness by the tree of Arber.
DUMBLEDORE: Very well. Severus? If you will.
(Professor Snape leads Louisa and to the tree. His face was his typical “not amused” face)
PROFESSOR SNAPE: What have you done? Why are you being summoned?
LOUISA SNAPE: I couldn’t tell you.
PROFESSOR SNAPE: Try.
LOUISA SNAPE: You say summoned, she said requested.
PROFESSOR SNAPE: The difference?
LOUISA SNAPE: A great deal. You could have waited to take me.
PROFESSOR SNAPE: (staring at her) *te shimbat?* (are you changed?)
LOUISA SNAPE: *su fichar suflar de vânte* (with every breath of wind)
PROFESSOR SNAPE: (his eyes narrow and they walk quickly towards the tree, where the elf is standing.)
GRAPA: Severus. Walk with me Eléa. Garit told me of the questions you have asked of the, feeling he has from you. He tells me you a wrong. That the head and body do not match.
LOUISA SNAPE: Perhaps I am just growing awkwardly.
GRAPA: You want to know of the elven powers that exist.
LOUISA SNAPE: Yes.
GRAPA: They say there are many. May I ask how old you are, it is, difficult when you are an elf to understand witches.
LOUISA SNAPE: I am 16.
GRAPA: and I too am much older in the elvish realm.
LOUISA SNAPE: 30.
GRAPA: I am sure age becomes you.
LOUISA SNAPE: Why, how can I be here.
GRAPA: It is true Severina never was here to tell you, Eileen I suppose the same.
LOUISA SNAPE: My mother my grandmother? What do they have to do with it? (By now they were deep into the woods. Louisa was getting annoyed.)
GRAPA: You know Professor Trelawney I presume?
LOUISA SNAPE: You want me to speak to a professor?
PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY: Ah my dear such a pleasure. And yet you never came to my class. No, no. tut. It is a
shame. Such things you could have learnt.
LOUISA SNAPE: Yes Professor, I’m sure I could have done. Only, I don’t possess the third eye.
PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY: No, you most certainly don’t and that is why I am here. Such skills in transfiguration and yet the third eye did not come to you.
LOUISA SNAPE: Er no Professor.
PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY: Which is why you don’t see it and we had to meet in such a secret location.
LOUISA SNAPE: Don’t see what Professor?
PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY: The time my dear! The time!
LOUISA SNAPE: I’m sorry Professor but I don’t understand
PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY: you are most definitely in the wrong time.
LOUISA SNAPE: And how do I get back?
PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY: Well you have to ask her. (and points to Louisa’s stomach).
LOUISA SNAPE: And who is that exactly?
PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY: Time.
(Louisa’s face was blank, as usual she had no idea what the Professor was talking about. The professor smiled and darted off back to the castle. Grapa smiled as well, it seemed that everyone thought that it was as clear as night and day, a logical and rational thing that was happening but still she felt clueless as to what was happening. When she got back to the castle people were heading to their lessons. For Gryffindors that was Ancient Runes or Divination. Usually her subject was Ancient Runes but she took the diversion to the astronomy tower. Perhaps Trelawney had been inviting her? Who knows? She made her way up and found that the classroom was decorated with cushions and hour glasses.)
