Death Korp Commissar, Cromwell Hogenmiller, with what remains of his 32nd Regiment of Krieg must hold the outpost, for as long as the Emperor wills it. There will be no survivors. (Note: Jack Reynolds is one of my many pen names, I did not steal this, nor would I ever steal someone's work. You can also find my story on Wattpad.)

Chapter II: The Shattered World in Bloody Arms
Chapter 3
Journal Entry #: 632004. "The Greenskins are persistent, I'll give them that. Recent attacks on the Northwestern fortifications damn near broke the line of defense. Fortunately for us, the Emperor has held us in high favor, as we repulsed the attack. Those bastards will not rout us from these trenches, and they shall know the fury and wrath of Our Emperor and His soldiers." - Lieutenant Xavier Corriva
Alarums cried with a crude brass sound, as the Korpsmen armed themselves for the green ilk that charged forth. They began to line the trenches, their Lucius-pattern lasguns at the ready to unleash a searing and menacing volley of laser upon their foes.
"Artillery crews, to your stations!" shouted a Watchmaster, as the crews bounded toward their stations. "Launch!", and the Earthshaker Cannons thundered with heavy ordnance.
Hoggenmiller marched up to the northwestern battlements, and looked onward at the disgusting green sea surging forward, unfazed by the artillery that screamed down on their ranks. The Greenskins were halfway across the muddy fields before the Korpsmen began firing the lasguns. With relative ease, the Orks at the forefront of the charge fell to the sheer wall of lasers, but the hording mass surged forward, before suddenly retreating.
A Watchmaster jogged up to the Commissar before saluting. "Report, Watchmaster Helmut." ordered Hoggenmiller, who was watching the surge of Greenskins flee the fortress.
"The Orks have fallen back to whatever hellhole they came from, sir. Should I send out a scouting party?"
"Belay that order, Watchmaster, and ramify the fortifications. We need not suffer further under the so-called 'Horde'," responded the Commissar, as he adjusted his mask, "The Emperor will not grace us with such a victory again so soon."
Watchmaster Helmut merely nodded at his orders, before pivoting on his heel, and marching off to direct the troops. Hoggenmiller turned back to face the outskirts of the fort, pondering the reasoning of why the Orks turned back so suddenly.
'Their losses were not even that major,' thought the emotionally-deprived Commissar, 'So why would they retreat so suddenly?'
