Chapter 1
Ask anyone in our family and they have to say that the Holyhead Harpies is their favourite team. Why? Well that’s because of our wonderful Ginny Weasley who played Chaser for the team from 1999.
So, who are they? The Holyhead Harpies is a very old Welsh club, unique among Quidditch teams around the world because it has only ever hired witches (something my daughter Sevie loves about it). Harpy robes are dark green with a golden talon upon the chest. The Harpies’ defeat of the Heidelberg Harriers on 1953 is widely agreed to have been one of the finest Quidditch games ever seen. Fought over a seven-day period, the game was brought to an end by a spectacular Snitch capture by the Harpy Seeker Glynnis Griffiths.
Other famous players have been Chaser Valmai Morgan, Chaser Wilda Griffiths & Captain and Beater Gwenog Jones who I met in my seventh year at one of Professor Slughorn’s parties. She is an excellent person and always has time to chat.
