On the lowest level, in the deepest part of the Ministry of Magic, what do you think you will find? Well I’m afraid that for most people that will end up as the most mysterious of mysteries that they ever did see.

I can tell you only a few things about the Department of Mysteries. The part that you can go to is on Level nine of the Ministry of Magic. There are various “areas” that people work in. There is a lot of mystery surrounding the department and due to the nature of the confidentiality of the job the people that work there are known as unspeakables.

Many mysteries of the world are studied there and curse breakers often have time in the department. Some of the areas that are studied are love, time, death, thoughts, future, safety, etc. The department seeks to take people from all areas of witchcraft. Therefore, it is the only Department of the Ministry that seeks to employ any style of witch or wizard. This could be a seer in the Hall of Prophecy or squib in the brain room, (for the reason that they will not attack non-magical people).

Why do people want to work in the Department of Mysteries? Because it is just that. It is mysterious. There is no logic, no understanding and no real reason to it. For people that have grown up surrounded by Muggles, think of these people as James Bond, 007. It is the easiest way to describe them. You may not realise it but someone you know is actually very important.
