Valerian Root

The Valerian root is used for sleeping potions and powders, as well as calming draughts and potions.

The blossoms have a smell often compared to a mix of cherry and vanilla, and can be used for Perfumes as well.

The plant is harvested in the fall or spring, and attracts cats, which must be kept away or they will treat it like catnip.

The Valerian Root is used in the Draught of Living Death as well as the Forgetfulness Potion.

It is rumoured that the root can ward off elvish envy and is therefore worn at weddings by grooms.
