Chapter 2
It was July 1998. The Burrow was usually a busy place filled with laughter, from the many Weasley children that lived there but this year was different. This year, Fred Weasley would not be coming back. Molly Weasley had taken to sitting on the chair by the front step and Arthur Weasley stayed in the shed. They all took it in turns to go to the shop. George Weasley, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Harry Potter & Hermione Granger, Charlie & Percy Weasley were with the Ministry and Bill & Fleur Weasley were at Gringotts. The house was more overcome with gnomes than ever before. The one person missing was a Snape. Louisa Snape-Riddle to be exact, George’s girlfriend.
Lou had not been seen since the 2nd May. He didn’t know where she was, if she was ok, had no idea. It wasn’t the first time she had done something like this. She didn’t deal well with grief, and despite everything his mother insisted “she’ll come back when she’s ready”. It’s just nobody knew when that would be. Everyone it seemed hoped that she would come back sooner rather than later. Hoped that she wouldn’t cause the family to be in more pain than they were already in.
It was the first Monday in July and Charlie and Ron sat at the kitchen table. “Ron, how did you find Hermione again?”,
“the Deluminator” he said with a hesitant voice, “why? You looking for someone?”
“no but I thought maybe George could. I mean they have a connection.”
“wouldn’t he have found her already?”
“without Fred? Nah I don’t think so.”
“Yeah maybe he does needs a bit of help… I could lend him that book he gave me on girls reckon he needs it”
replied Ron.
“Well give it to me, I’m seeing him soon.” Said Charlie
“Err, yeah, I guess. Tell him to think of her and click the button.” Ron left the kitchen and went upstairs to get the
Deluminator. He handed it to Charlie. He eyed him sceptically. “tell him to be careful with it. It was Dumbledore’s”. Ron was watching Charlie as though he could read his mind.
“I will, I’ll tell him” Charlie took it, went outside, and tended to a few “pets” he had been keeping. Sitting by Louisa’s favourite tree he took the Deluminator out of his pocket and turned it over in his hand. He didn’t know if it was his imagination but it was as though Louisa was talking to him, she had stopped crying at least.
“where am I supposed to go?” said a voice. It was definitely Lou. He clicked it just like Ron had said, maybe he could find her for George, tell everyone she was ok.
