The ones that care

Chapter 2
I have a feeling that Draco knew. I think he may also have been bullied, though not in the same way. On my first visit in September I was sore. I had made a vow never to hide from my uncle and he took me to the office with Professor McGonagall and told me to reveal what she had done. It looked like cigarette burns where the wand had brushed the skin. They were getting worse. Either she was working out how to get through the natural counter-curse or she was getting stronger. Whichever it was it wasn’t good. I would spend time in the hospital wing or in a bath of dittany.

By Christmas, George had managed to let slip my situation and Mrs Weasley was now demanding that every time I see her, I had to show her my back or arms or legs. It was terrible because it only added to her worries on the rest of her family. It made me feel terrible. Luckily, I asked my cousin Karluch to heal any wounds I had.

In no way will I ever say that Albus Dumbledore did not care about any of his students but after his death, when Rita Skeeter brought out his autobiography and there were many articles about him in the Daily Prophet, you had to wonder about him. You couldn’t help not. What I will say is that he cared enough to put himself in danger. I think that he made mistakes but cared enough to learn from those mistakes. We, his students are also learning by his example and are caring.
