Hogwarts

Chapter 5
René and Ron looked around for an empty compartment. Failing to find one after a while, they walked into one with only one person Ron immediately knew who it was, and I’m sure René did too, but she didn’t mention a word of it.

“Sorry, everywhere else is full. Do you mind if we sit here?” René asked the boy that her mother had helped get onto the platform. The boy nodded. René and Ron put their trunks on the racks and sat down across from the boy.

“So...well, I’m René Weasley. And that’s Ron, my twin.” René said, hating the silence. The boy nodded and smiled.

“I’m Harry, Harry Potter.” The boy, named Harry, said. Ron’s eyes widened and he turned to René, who simply rolled her eyes and sighed.

“Ronald, stop that. Nice to meet you Harry.” René said, giving Harry a small smile. Harry returned the smile and looked out the window. René shrugged as she picked up her notebook and started writing in it, not minding the silence as much now.

Ron and Harry started talking and joking, definitely friends. René continued her writing, smiling to herself as she listened to the two boys having their conversation carelessly. After a moment or two René shut her notebook and walked out. She began roaming around the train, bored.

A few minutes later René went to head back to the compartment. But before she made it there she ran into a girl with bushy hair. The girl seemed to be looking for something.

“Oh, I’m sorry. And, if you don’t mind, what are you looking for?” René said.

“Oh, it’s fine, and I’m looking for a toad. A boy named Neville’s lost one.” The girl said, looking at René. “I’m Hermione Granger, who are you.”

“I’m René Weasley, pleasure to meet you. Do you want some help looking for the toad?”

“Yes, please. If you don’t mind.”

René smiled and gladly helped, while chatting with Hermione. The two of them searched around for the toad until they came to a familiar compartment to René. Hermione opened the door to see Ron getting ready to show Harry some spell. René giggled slightly as Hermione went to go say something.
“Have either of you seen a toad? A boy named Neville’s lost one...oh are you doing magic? Let’s see then.” Hermione said, turning her attention to Ron. Ron sighed.

“Sunshine, daises, butter mellow, turn this stupid, fat rat yellow.” Ron said, in an attempt to turn his rat yellow. It didn’t work, which of course, René had expected.

“Are you sure that’s a real spell? Well it’s not a very good one, is it? I’ve only tried a few simple spells, but they’ve all worked for me.” Hermione said, pulling out her wand. René raised an eyebrow as Hermione made her way over to Harry.

“For example,” Hermione said, while pointing her wand at Harry’s glasses. “Oculus Reparo.”

Harry’s glasses fixed themselves right away, and that’s when Hermione realized something.

“Holy cricket! You’re Harry Potter! I’m Hermione Granger...and you are?” Hermione said, turning to Ron. Ron took a second before responding.

“Ron, Ron Weasley.” he said, making René giggle again for really no reason.

“Pleasure. You two better get your robes on, I reckon we’ll be there soon.” Hermione said, and with that she walked out. René sighed and sat down next to Ron.

“She’s nice, don’t you think?” René said and smiled.

“You could say that, a little too smart really.” Ron replied.

René rolled her eyes and leaned her head against the window, falling into deep thought. She could see Hogwarts pretty clearly now, bringing her great worry. She didn’t want to be sorted, not yet. She wanted more time to talk with her new friends before she had the chance of being separated from them. But, she knew, in the end it had to happen.

They finally made it to Hogwarts after a few more minutes. They all climbed off the train, René getting separated from Ron and Harry in the process.

“First years! First years over ‘ere!” A tall man yelled. René shook her head as she walked over there. She later found out the man was Hagrid, the game keeper of Hogwarts. All of the young first years got onto boats before they made their way to Hogwarts.
