Chapter 3
Mrs.Weasley led the children inside the pub and out a side door. She walked up to a brick wall and tapped her wand to a certain brick before a town appeared. The children walked ahead of their mother, excitedly.
“Well alright kids, Ron and René stick together. Fred and George, don’t get into too much trouble. And Ginny, stay with me. Meet back here around six. Got it?” Mrs.Weasley said, sternly. The kids all replied with a nod before going their separate ways.
René and Ron walked around to get all of their things. While they were getting their books inside of Flourish and Blotts (The Bookshop), René said something really strange and out of the blue.
“Hey Ron? You know how Newt Scamander had a suitcase for an office? Is it wrong to want something like that?” she asked.
Ron shrugged and looked at her. “Probably, probably not. We don’t have the money for that though. Why?” he said.
“Well I just think the magical creatures are cool. And that it’d be fun to raise some animals, just a thought. Another question, do you think Hogwarts is as bad as Fred and George make it sound?”
“Hard telling. It’s either a joke or they’re being dead serious. But I doubt it’s that hard.”
René nodded and sighed. They walked out of the bookshop and to Ollivander’s (the wandmaker) to buy their wands. When they got their René sighed and opened the door. When they walked in they could see shelf after shelf full of boxes that held wands.
“Hello? Anyone here?” René asked, looking around. After she asked her question she saw an older looking man who smiled at them.
“Two Weasleys yes? Well, who’s first?” The man said. René sighed and stepped forward, wanting to get it over with quickly. The man smiled a bit brighter at her and grabbed a box that held a wand.
“10 inches, Dogwood, Unicorn Hair, quite sturdy.” The man said. René shrugged and flicked the wand, accidentally exploding a vase. The man shook his head and gave her another one. After fifteen minutes they had finally found the right wand for René.
“10 inches, Phoenix Feather, Maple, quite bendy.” The man said to René before helping Ron find the right wand. After they both had got their wand it was time to meet back up with their family. They both rushed to the spot, not wanting to be late to get back. When they made it there everyone was there and seemed to be waiting on them.
“Sorry we’re late. We couldn’t find the right wand for me.” René said and sighed. Mrs.Weasley shook her head and smiled before taking all of the kids and heading home.
When they made it home it was dark out and the first thing that caught René’s eye was an owl leg at the base of a tree. She frowned and picked it up, knowing this would be her first ever pet.
