Quidditch Canceled
Chapter 26
Harry threw on his quidditch robes and walked out with his team. Renè had shown no interest in showing up, to Harry’s disappointment. Just as the quidditch team made their way onto the quidditch field, McGonagall stopped them.
“The game has been canceled.” McGonagall said, crisply.
“They can’t just cancel quidditch!” Oliver exclaimed.
“They can.” McGonagall retorted. “Potter come with me. I have something you and Weasley might appreciate seeing.”
Harry hesitantly followed McGonagall out to go find Ron. Once they found him they were making their way to the Hospital Wing.
“What do you reckon is going on? And why wasn’t Renè at the match at all. And why did we just pass her.” Ron muttered quietly to Harry. Harry replied with a shrug, not even noticing Renè.
Renè felt everso guilty. She had stolen the diary back from Harry unnoticed and accidentally made something bad happen to one of her friends and a Ravenclaw. Harry and Ron were clueless of this though and it was very easy to see.
McGonagall entered the Hospital Wing with Harry and Ron still following. She led them to a bed with someone similar laying on it…Hermione. Ron turned pale and Harry just gaped.
“Can we tell Renè about this or-” Harry asked.
“I’d rather you not. She’s already got enough to think about, mind you. Also tell her to meet Professor Dumbledore in his office, next chance you get. Now I suggest that you two go join the rest of your house in the Gryffindor Common Room.” McGonagall said and swiftly left. Harry and Ron let out a deep sigh before walking to the Gryffindor Common Room, Harry wondering why Renè was needed in Dumbledore’s office.
“Hey Ron?” Harry asked when they made it to the common room.
“Yeah?” Ron answered, heading for the boy’s dormitory.
“Just curious, but is Renè considered as one of the worst kids in your family? Like a rule breaker or something?” Harry questioned. Ron shrugged.
“She’s not as bad as Fred and George, but not as good as Percy. She’s in the middle I guess. She’d break rules to save someone or protect someone, otherwise she’s all for following them. She’s only had the one detention from the flying car incident. Why?”
“Well, uhm, just wondering why she would be sent to Dumbledore’s office. Like if she was just breaking rules or something was wrong or what.”
“Renè is the best person on earth at hiding how she is thinking and feeling. You’ll never know if she’s hurt or anything, she’s that good at it. Sometimes she even convinces people that she’s a totally different person because she can hide feelings. It’s really horrible when you want to know if she’s fine, but other times it’s sorta helpful.”
Harry nodded and sat down on his bed. Ron laid down and sighed.
“So guess we have to find Rey later?” he asked.
“What?” Harry questioned.
“Sorry, Rey is Renè. It’s her nickname. I didn’t know what you called her.” Ron said and shrugged,
Harry nodded. “Well yeah then. And we have various nicknames for each other. It just depends.” he said. Just thinking of Renè started to worry him about how she was. Ron sat up.
“You guys are better twins than me and her have ever been. It’s almost like you guys can never be separated. Until now though, but she won’t even talk to Hermione. So it’s got nothing to do with anyone other than a moodswing I guess.” Ron said, smirking slightly.
“Get rid of the smirk. You know there’s no crush. Drop it.” Harry said, smiling slightly. He tossed a pillow at Ron and chuckled. Next thing they knew they were throwing pillows back and forth.
