One Simple Story

Chapter 25
The lights dimmed and suddenly Renè had a feeling nothing was right. The rest she couldn’t remember, other than the small gleam of yellow after a few minutes. It was so confusing. She had only been sitting beside the forest. “I thought I got rid of the diary. How is it still affecting me so?” she thought. Suddenly all light came back and she could hear the sounds of the commotion in the Gryffindor Common Room. That was all she could remember.

“Something’s really off about that diary. Not to mention about Renè also.” Ron muttered, nodding his head towards Renè who was sitting alone supposedly working on homework.

Harry let out a heavy sigh and Hermione just rolled her eyes. “Mind you she’s all over the Prophet and if she was found at Hogwarts right now she earned herself a ticket to Azkaban.” Hermione said.

“What’s Azkaban?” Harry questioned, looking between a concerned Hermione and an annoyed Ron.

“It’s the wizard prison basically.” Ron muttered.

Harry sighed. “Well that’s totally unfair on her half. Seriously, she can’t be sent to a prison because she is so different and her sibling let out her secret. Nobody sent me there and basically I’m in the same boat.” he said.

Ron shook his head. “Wandless magic, changing her appearance at will, being able to turn into a fox, talking to snakes, you call that normal? Sorry Harry, but she’s just not the person who you can expect to be there all the time. You’re going to have to give up on it.” he said. Hermione swiftly smacked Ron’s arm and muttered something in his ear. Ron rolled his eyes and slouched back in his seat.

Harry frowned. “Maybe try being proud of your twin for surviving that instead of worrying over heavily and acting like she’s going to die tomorrow. It’s not even fair for her. She didn’t ask for it, if you didn’t notice.” he said, annoyed. Ron didn’t reply. The friends sat there in silence, Harry absently staring at Renè. Harry stood up after a moment and went over to talk to Renè. The two had a friendly conversation for a while before Harry faking a yawn and walking to the Boy’s Dormitory. He started looking over Tom Riddle's diary.

“My name is Harry Potter.” he scribbled down. The ink slowly disappeared.

“Hello Harry Potter. I am Tom Riddle.” appeared on the page just as Harry’s name disappeared. Harry jumped in shock.

“Do you know anything about the Chamber of Secrets?” Harry wrote.

“Yes.” the diary replied.

“Can you tell me?” Harry wrote quickly.

“No,” the diary responded. Harry slouched down, defeated, but suddenly something replaced no. “But I can show you.”

Harry looked confused. Seconds later he was swept into the diary. Not knowing, nor having, any clue what happened he looked around. He saw a boy around sixteen, who must’ve been Tom Riddle and a group of people walking down with what looked like a dead body. Harry looked at it confused. He went to go ask the boy what was happening, but the boy never responded. They couldn’t hear or see him.
