Tom Riddle's Diary
Chapter 24
Renè had been keeping a distance from Harry, and only Harry. Harry felt upset about this, and as a result started avoiding Ron and Hermione for a while. Failing to stay mostly lonely, Harry finally did start hanging out with them again.
Harry was hanging out with Ron one day and as they were walking around the boys saw Renè. When they went to say something to her, she shook her head. Then they realized Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom was overflowing with water. The boys ran in to see what was going on.
“What’s wrong Myrtle?” Harry asked.
“Aren’t you going to throw a book at me too? That’s what the other did.” Myrtle said, sobbing.
“Well why would that matter? You can’t feel anything anyway.” Ron said.
Myrtle screamed. “Let’s all throw books at Myrtle because she can’t feel it! 5 points if you get it through her head! 10 if you get it through her stomach!” She yelled. Harry looked at the floor and saw a diary that surprisingly wasn’t getting wet. He picked it up and then he and Ron left. They went to the Hospital Wing to see Hermione.
“Tom Marvolo Riddle.” Hermione muttered at the name on the back.
“I know that name. Why do I know that name?” Ron said. Hermione and Harry just stared at him.
“Oh! That’s why I know it. Renè said that there was a trophy that she was polishing during detention that had that name on it. It was for great services to the school or something.” Ron said. Harry and Hermione nodded.
“This is from fifty years ago. Maybe it will have something about the Chamber of Secrets in it.” Hermione said.
“Maybe, except there’s nothing written in it.” Harry said and sighed. Suddenly Renè came bursting in, crying. Her arm was covered in blood and her robes were muddy and wet.
“Rey! What happened?” Harry asked, wrapping her in a tight hug to try to calm her down.
“M-Malfoy and his goons.” Renè said in between sobs. Harry sighed and released Renè from the hug.
“Harry! You can’t seriously-“ Hermione started, but Harry cut her off.
“Do you not see what they did to her!?” Harry said, angry. Ron sighed and so did Hermione. Renè fainted and hit her head hard against the floor. Harry frowned.
“This is just horrible.” He muttered, bending down to see where the blood was coming from. Ron smirked.
“You can’t tell me there isn’t a crush that you’re hiding.” Ron said. Hermione slapped Ron’s arm and frowned.
“Leave it be Ronald.” She muttered.
But maybe Ron was right, maybe there was a small crush or connection between Harry and Renè now. All it ever did was grow the more they were around each other.
