Thought to be Petrified
Chapter 22
The next day, as soon as Harry was allowed to leave the Hospital Wing he did so immediately. He wanted to talk with Renè and see what exactly was going on. When he made it to the Common Room, Ron and Hermione were whispering to each other and Renè was nowhere in sight.
“Ron, Hermione? Where’s Renè?” Harry asked, confused. Hermione bit her lip.
“Well, uhhh, Harry, she’s sort of...petrified. It happened last night, after she had gone to sleep though, or I thought at least. She’s still in the dorms, petrified though.” Hermione said. Harry frowned and walked out of the Common Room to get someone to help. When he brought McGonagall there to help, McGonagall said the unexpected.
“She’s not petrified, Potter. For reasons Dumbledore doesn’t want to release, she will have moments like this when something bad is either happening or bound to happen. She will be fine though. Don’t make her angry though.” McGonagall said, and left. Harry was left confused yet again as he waited for Renè to be up. When she did wake up and sat up, Harry immediately wrapped her in a tight hug which she gladly returned.
“I missed you.” Harry muttered.
“I’ll always come back, you should know that before I leave again. Not that it’s about to happen.” Renè whispered softly. Harry nodded.
“Well do you want to hang out for a while? No classes, so-” Harry started, but was cut off by Renè.
“Race you to the Black Lake. Don’t get caught by Snape.” She said mischievously before standing up and running out, closely followed by a smirking Harry. Renè hardly beat Harry to the lake and collapsed against a tree.
“You win, Shorty.” Harry said, sitting down next to her with a smirk.
“I am not short enough to be called Shorty.” Renè muttered, playfully rolling her eyes.
“You’re like a foot shorter than me, you are a shorty.” Harry said. Renè playfully shoved him.
“Oh shut up.” She muttered, pretending to be annoyed. Next thing the two knew they were laughing and playfully wrestling. The thing they definitely didn’t know was that Ron and Hermione were close by and watching the whole time. It was cute how the friends were so much like brother and sister and that they didn’t seem to care about anything else than having each other's company.
