Quidditch
Chapter 21
The first Quidditch match of the year had come soon, and Renè was still avoiding the three other friends. Harry felt horrible the day of the match, mostly because he didn’t know what he’d do without seeing Renè’s bright smile and strong expressions in the stands. He was snapped out of this deep thought as Ron spoke.
“Earth to Harry.” Ron said, smirking slightly.
“What?” Harry asked.
“Why do you act like the world is ending right now?” Ron asked.
“Because this match is logically doomed.” Harry said.
Hermione rolled her eyes. “If it was I would’ve already said that. Is this about Renè again? Because if it is, you just need to let it go. She’ll come around, Harry, I promise.” she said.
“Well I haven’t even seen her in a week, so hard telling.” Harry muttered.
“Someone has a crush, do they?” Ron teased.
“Ron, we’re twelve. I’m not thinking that far ahead.” Harry retorted quickly. Hermione shook her head and sighed.
“If you haven’t taken notice, Renè hasn’t even been here for the past week. I know you both would never know, but I’ve picked that up. It was all over the Daily Prophet. She was pulled from Hogwarts until further notice. I think she might be hanging around near here still, though. Because I think she didn’t want to go home early.” Hermione said.
Harry frowned and stood up. “Oh great news, Hermione! Now Harry is going to go try to find her.” Ron said and rolled his eyes.
“You knew too? Why didn’t you bother to tell me?” Harry asked angrily.
“I didn’t. Mum never told me, and I gave up reading the Prophet.” Ron said.
Hermione sighed and dragged Harry and Ron outside.
“I overheard McGonagall talking to Dumbledore. They said Renè was spending time at Hagrid’s place or in Hogsmeade, which is where only third years are allowed to go. And considering Fred isn’t beat up about it, I’d say both are true.” Hermione said, quietly.
“Well, great, let’s g-” Harry started, but Hermione cut him off.
“After the Quidditch Match.” She muttered. Harry sighed, but didn’t object. The three friends made their way to the Quidditch Pitch quickly. As soon as they got there, Harry joined his team and Hermione and Ron joined the Gryffindors in the stands.
“This game sure will be interesting. Considering Malfoy is a seeker for Slytherin.” Ron muttered. Hermione let out a heavy sigh. The game soon started and Harry and Malfoy were shooting insults at each other as they looked around for the snitch. It was a while before they spotted it. When they did, Harry was the first to go after it. A bludger immediately followed them, obviously bewitched.
“What’s that about?” Ron said.
Hermione shrugged and sighed. “Looks bewitched to me. I think Harry took notice of it though.” she muttered.
Harry definitely had. He was dodging it while trying to catch the snitch. No matter where he went, the bludger would follow. Ron lifted his wand to try to stop it, but Hermione immediately stopped him.
“It's too risky. You could hit Harry.” She said. Ron sighed.
“So what do we do?” he asked.
“There’s nothing that we can do.” Hermione said.
Soon enough Harry caught the snitch. The bludger hit him and knocked him off his broom, causing him to break his arm. Hermione, Ron, and a few Professors rushed out. There was a familiar ginger hair girl who hesitantly walked over also, and stopped the bludger.
“Renè?” Harry said, taking notice of the girl.
“You know it.” She muttered in response. “And what the heck do you think you’re doing?”
Everyone looked over at Professor Lockhart who was trying to heal Harry’s arm. He then said the inncation wrong and got rid of all the bones in Harry’s arm.
“You idiot.” Renè grumbled. Hermione rolled her eyes and they took Harry to the Hospital Wing.
“So, how’d you get back?” Hermione asked Renè after they were told to leave the Hospital Wing for the night.
“Fred and George’s secret. The Ministry doesn’t have a clue though.” Renè said with a simple shrug.
Hermione smiled and the two friends made their way to the Gryffindor Girls Dormitory for bed. Harry, even though he was spending that night regrowing his bones, couldn’t have been any happier that Renè was back. Even if the time she came back was unexpected, he at least knew she was safe. The puzzling thing was of course why she was now acting completely fine and not seeming to remember that she had stopped being friends with Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Harry lost this thought as he heard the voice again. The voice was saying something about killing, which caused Harry to shuder. Renè, who was sleeping, was hearing this voice also.
Harry suddenly heard a small pop and jerked his head over to see none other than Dobby.
“What are you doing here?” Harry asked.
“Dobby has come to apologize to Harry Potter. Dobby is the one who made that bludger hit Harry Potter. Dobby didn’t mean to, Dobby was only trying to make Harry Potter have to go home.” Dobby said.
“You’re lucky I don’t have all my bones back yet.” Harry snapped.
“Dobby had to punish himself very much for it, Harry Potter.” Dobby said, lifting his hands up. It looked like he had ironed them. Harry sighed and shook his head. The door started to open and Dobby left quickly. That was when Harry realized that another student was petrified and the Chamber of Secrets was most definitely opened.
“Earth to Harry.” Ron said, smirking slightly.
