The Man with Two Faces

Chapter 14
“Quirrel? I thought that Snape was-" Renè started, but was cut off by Quirrel.

“Yes, yes, I know. Who would ever expect p-poor q-quivering P-professor Q-quirrel to be trying to steal the sorcerer's stone?” Quirrel said, going into a long explanation of everything. Renè fainted somewhere in the middle of this, busting the back of her head open. Harry went to help, but Quirrel made him look in the mirror before he had a chance to help.

“Tell me boy, what do you see?” Quirrel asked. Harry looked into the mirror. He saw the sorcerer’s stone being placed into his pocket, and he could truly feel it.

“I-I see me winning the House Cup for Gryffindor.” Harry lied.

A cold voice yelled out, “lies!”, causing Harry to jump. Quirrel then went into a conversation with someone, that Harry couldn’t see. After a while, Quirrel started unwrapping his turban, and revealed Voldemort. Voldemort laughed coldly, and Harry’s scar started to sear. It felt like it was going to split open. Renè’s shoulder, where her scar was the first time Harry and her touched each other, started bleeding harshly. If she had been awake still she would’ve passed out from the amount of blood she was losing. Harry wanted to help her badly, but had to face Voldemort. Harry ended up killing Quirrel before fainting beside Renè. Dumbledore found them and took them to the Hospital Wing quickly. He destroyed the sorcerer’s stone afterwards.

A week or so later Renè and Harry finally woke up. Dumbledore had a small talk with them before releasing them. Hermione and Ron were glad to see their friends again. The friends sat at the Gryffindor table for the end of the year feast. The Great Hall was decorated in green and silver, making Renè groan.

“Yeah, I’m out. See you next year.” She muttered, making Harry chuckle. Renè smiled at the chuckle and rested her head in her hand. She ended up falling asleep in the middle of the ceremony, but got caught up later.
