Chapter 9
Albus was hurt. Not his arm, Madame Gargglesnout fixed up it no time. But he was shameful. His pride was gone. He had told all the first years that he was going to be a legend like his dad, the youngest seeker in a century.
"You can have no more visitors. Albus, you need your sleep if you don't want your arm to hurt tomorrow,' said Madame Gargglesnout.
"Ok." said Albus and he got into bed.
After a couple of hours, Albus woke up with a cold shiver down his back. He noticed that everything was too quiet even if he was the only one in the hospital wing. And almost too suddenly, a bunch of professors entered the room. He pretended to sleep but listened to them talking.
"Is Potter asleep?" asked Professor Longbottom.
"I'm sure. How did Gary Reed get petrified? I thought that Harry Potter defeated the basilisk thirty-five years ago," said Professor Finnigan.
"I know. But we need to keep an eye out on the Potters," said Professor Abbott.
"The boys in the room with him said that they felt a cool breeze when Reed got petrified," said Professor Corner.
Albus thought it was a coincidence. Then all the professors left. He took a peek at Reed's face. It was a deformed looking face. Albus shivered. Then a shouting voice entered the room. When no one was looking, he went to the hall.
He saw a door that he was certain that he has never seen before. He entered it and hid behind a stack of books. A cold sneer entered the room.
"I can't believe you tried attacking the Gary boy! I told you not to attack someone unless I am patrolling the halls! What if people find out about the Death Killers!" shouted a familiar sneer that was heard among the first years.
Albus didn't know who or what a Death Killer was. But he could tell that it would be dangerous if he knew. He left the room. But he forgot to close the door.
"I feel someone Malfoy," said a dangerous voice. But Albus was long gone to hear that particular comment.
Professor Malfoy turned around but found an open door.
