Chapter 8
The group of friends rushed to their flying class with Rosie walking slowly behind. Albus squinted his eyes shielding the sun from them. They quickly got into their places on the perfect green Hogwarts lawn.
“Good morning, everyone! My name is Madam Hooch and I am the flying instructor. First, we will learn how to command our brooms. Say up and the broom shall appear into your hand.” Albus did not notice it before, but there were broomsticks next to each of the students.
“Up,” commanded Albus. The broom flew into his hand. Albus heard the others say ‘up’ but none of the brooms flew into their hands.
“Well done, Mr. Potter!” Madam Hooch exclaimed. On the other side, Scorpius sneered and started to shout at his broomstick, still on the ground. “Everyone, say ‘up’ again.” This time most of the brooms went up.
“Now, everyone, get onto your brooms and push off of the ground.” Right then, Professor Malfoy walked outside. Albus sprung off the ground.
“Albus! Stop!” Rosie shouted. She had seen Professor Malfoy flick his wand at Albus. Rosie didn’t know what Professor Malfoy had done, but it was bad. Before Albus heard Rosie’s warning, his broom flew up and down uncontrollably. Malfoy and his friends laughed while Professor Malfoy went back inside the building. Albus crashed into the ground and heard something crack.
“Potter! Are you alright?”
“I can’t move my arm, Madam Hooch.”
“Hensworth, Boot, take Albus to the infirmary.” Albus was lifted up and carried away.
